Introduction I would like to work towards becoming a board certified behavioral analysis because I feel that people with autism and their families need more support and I am very passionate about helping these families. People with autism spectrum disorder have amazing personalities. If they are given the opportunity to share that with the world, more people can appreciate them as a person instead of a disability. My goal is to work to write behavioral plans for children using applied behavioral analysis. ABA is a way of teaching people through positive reinforcement. I need to be able to successfully analyze my data and relay it in a professional way that my peers can understand (Capella, 2003). According to McClintock “the term scholar practitioner expresses an ideal of professional excellence grounded in theory and research, informed by experiential knowledge, and motivated by personal values, political commitments, and ethical conduct” (McClintock, 2003, p. 3.)
