Ban Idiots Not Guns
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."-Declaration of Independence. This is the given right from the Second Amendment as a U.S. citizen. They have the right to bear arms, which means they can defend themselves, hunt, or shoot for fun. The United States should have the right to bear arms because it is a given right according to the constitution.
If citizens are armed, it will make criminals think twice, but if they are not armed then they have nothing to stop them. When citizens right to bear arms becomes infringed, they will not be able to defend themselves. If you take the horns off of a gazelle, it is not going to stop the leopard from hunting it. When it is easier for the predator to get its prey, the predator is going to take advantage, same as a person. As the victim, without a weapon to protect himself, the suspect will have an easy target.
In the U.S, nearly three times more people were stabbed or harmed with knives rather than rifles or shotguns combined, according to the FBI’s 2015 Uniform Crime Report. This quote shows that knives are a bigger problem than guns so why does not the U.S. ban knives instead…show more content…
Not only for protection, but for hobbies as well. If people are taught how to properly handle guns, the amount of accidents may decrease. Just because guns are prohibited, does not mean it will stop the bad people. If guns are taken away, the people needing to defend themselves will have no defense mechanism. Because knives kill more people than guns, knives should be banned before guns. Many people use firearms to provide food for their family. If the provider cannot have the equipment needed to hunt, his family can’t eat. Guns can kill people, but most of the time it is because of people who were not informed about how to use the gun
