Ever since I can remember, I have been entranced by science, and the astonishing ways that it can explain how the human body works. science’s complexity is profound in that things are explained down to a cellular level to an exact degree. I feel poignantly affected by knowledge in all forms, and try my best to analyze myself and the world around me. After a couple encounters with world history and personal epiphanies, I’ve solemnly concluded that I don’t like what I see in the world around me. Not only am I fascinated with human physiology and cells, but with the person that they make up. I am determined to choose a profession that makes people's lives better, hoping to lessen the severity of the problems in which they are often entangled and given by society. …show more content…
I am the type of student that welcomes rigor, so that's why AP courses are my favorite. Given that, I am extremely excited to experience an enlightening and rewarding course that deepens my love and appreciation for healthcare. On that note, I also understand that academic skills are only half of what it takes to be in medicine; you also need people skills. I’m hoping to improve my social skills by working with students with similar interests, build my communication confidence, and learn about and practice building consensus. Not only would this opportunity provide immediate application and enhance my potential in future careers, these skills will help me act as a visionary to help in communicating a more powerful future to others. Another notable aspect of this program is that it offers experience in the real world. Im hoping to gain a sense of what it is like to be independent: living on my own, being in control of my actions, and giving myself time to satisfy my endless quest for

Growing up, most kids in my generation had Disney Channel or Barbie Dolls. As I was raised with 6 siblings and cousins and having just emigrated from England, my family did not have ample money to expend on cable or fancy toys; subsequently, I resorted to books. As I read more and more, my interests began to broaden, and my keen admiration and curiosity for how and why things work in certain ways progressed. As I grew older, I realized that science could be used to answer many of life’s most complex questions. Once I was accepted early into The University of Georgia, I declared my major as Biology with a pre-medical intent, deciding to further pursue my curiosity about living organisms. I soon realized that I needed to achieve more, and decided

Other things to keep in mind when applying for these physician assistant programs are things like the GRE and more importantly, the citizenship requirement that may intervene with my plans. Though I have a permit to legally reside and work in the United States, I am not considered a citizen or a permanent resident. This could be a big problem when applying because a requirement listed is that the applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Applicants should be citizens or permanent residents because insurance is required to participate in the clinical rotations. I believe this will be the most difficult part of my journey to becoming a PA but like all the other challenges I have faced due to my legal status, I will overcome it. I will use this personal issue in my favor by explaining that having to live with it has only made me more resilient and I would relate it back to their mission statements which all state that one of their priorities is to serve the underserved communities. Because of my status, I relate to these underserved communities because I
I changed my major a few times until I finally decided to become a physician assistant also known as a PA. It started when I realized i have a passion for medicine. About 6 months ago I broke my hand and during the rehabilitation period I was inspired by my orthopedic physician. I had originally wanted to become an Orthopedic surgeon but as time when on i started being a little bit more realistic. School has never been my strong suit. An orthopedic surgeon has to go through 4 years of college, 4 years of med school and another 5 years of clinicals. Thats a lot of time in school for someone who doesn’t like being there in the first place. Most people think becoming a PA takes just as long but surprisingly it only takes about 2 years.

Have you ever thought about getting out and exercising but not actually been motivated enough to actually do that same thing? There are much greater benefits to participating in activities and exercise than in sitting on your bum. Everyone knows that the more exercise and activities a person does the healthier they will be. In order for this to be true though a person must continue this throughout his/her life and be committed to doing it more than just once in a blue moon. One easy way to get this exercise is to play a lifetime sport. Lifetime sports include sports that can continue with you for a lifetime, which you can participate in at any age, and don’t have an age season. In this essay I
