Throughout a person’s lifetime, there can be many significant changes that can occur. The most significant change that occurred in my life was to graduate from high school and begin college. There was a challenge of actually knowing what I wanted to do and choosing the right career path. The thought of it, made me realize how much responsibility I would now have when I begin college. When I was in high school, working in the medical field and the ability to help people that are incapacitated has always been my dream. Becoming a nurse practitioner was the career I thought about, but I have a phobia that makes me pass out when I see blood, so the option of being a nurse was ruled out. I got a source from my instructor to research on jobs. On the website, I search for Medical Records and Health Information Tech. on my next move and found a job that required the certificate and degree in Kaplan University (O*NET, 2016). In addition to the job search, I pulled up the national median salary for Medical Records and Health Information Technicians and it was an annual sum of $35,900 (O*NET, 2016). Due to my present job demand, I’m not in the state I would like to practice my career, but in other to obtain a valid record of the job demand in the state I intend to relocate to work after graduation, I researched Texas and found out the demand for Medical Records and Health Information Technicians is on average (O*NET, 2016). Based on personal experience, Texas is a state where you can afford anything from job opening to schooling, rent and shopping.
