In the 21st century, the Adolf Hitler that America is exposed to is not the same Adolf Hitler that the Germans see today. The thing about Adolf Hitler is that his reputation is the opposite of what a majority of people consider “good”. A man known for wanting to exterminate Jewish people during the Holocaust. A man who invaded most of the European countries in under a year. This is a man regarded as pure evil. Yet also a man who gave the Germans a new life. He lifted Germany up from the depths of their despair and launched the nation into an era of power, making it one of the most powerful nations on earth. Young men have started to praise Hitler as the cult-like movement of neo-Nazism spreads slowly across Germany.
So who’s to say that Hitler is a villain if people continue to praise and think highly of him? According to Renegade Tribune, Hitler has been portrayed so demonic that only a short-range of people notice that he was a “man of genius, vision, and courage.”

If this statement is true, then why is literary king, Beowulf, considered a hero? It is generally believed that Beowulf is to be a hero by the unknown author of the book because of the skills and loyalty he brings to the Danes. However, he is motivated by selfishness and greed to rise to power using Grendel, Grendel’s mom, and the dragon to gain wealth, power, and lasting recognition. Because of this, his motives can be perceived as solely selfish, but in the end, he also helped a great deal of people through his accomplishments, such as killing Grendel gave the Danes a new sense of freedom and safety.
