In the state of colorado the normal 10 year old is stressed about grades or if their crush likes them, not if their dad is going to jail or not. Just imagine seeing your parents put into a cop car and driven away while you watch. For some odd reason I still feel like it's my fault. I never really knew how much I need and love my parents. Without them I don’t know what i’d do or where i’d be in life.
My parents were first arrested March of 2016 -about a year and a half ago. I remember when an officer came up to me to ask questions while my grandma drove up the driveway. I felt this deep fear almost an intimidation of saying the wrong thing and getting my parents in more trouble than they already were.
That night I stayed at my grandma’s

We waited for a couple hours untill finally… the door opens and in walks my mom and my dad i shot up like I was just electricuted with a bolt of excitement. Their overall “punishment” was 5 year parole for my dad and 2 year parole for my mom.
Acouple months before the final trial my mom started working for one of my grandmas friends Jennine. Jennine was getting ready to rent out this house for about $2k a month so we had no intentions of renting it out -too expensive- but my mom agreed to help her clean it for money. It was about mid-Septmber when Jennine said she would knock down the price to about $1,500 but only if my mom came and cleanedher house once a couple of months. When my mom told me at first I was sceptical because I did’nt want to leave my friends in arvada but my dad kept telling me I have this “specail” ability to make new friends wherever I go so, I ended up giving into the idea. Next thing I knew I was in a new house, a new room, and a new bed.
For the begining of the year I went to a school called Alameda Jr./Sr. High School by my grandma’s house but, the new house was a 4o minute drive so I had to switch schools. My new school was called Mandalay Middle School, I was a mix of scared and excited to have a fresh start. So on September 27th 2016 I had my first day as a wolverine -Mandalay’s mascot is a wolverine. On just that first day I met some amazing people including a girl named Leah who in fact is still my bestfriend to this day.

One of the largest geographic physical structures in the United States is the Colorado River. Human activity and its interaction with this great river have an interesting history. The resources provided by the river have been used by humans, and caused conflict for human populations as well. One of these conflicts is water distribution, and the effects drought conditions have played in this distribution throughout the southwestern region. Major cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, and other communities in the southwest depend on the river. It provides water for over 20 million people, irrigation for 2 million acres of land, four thousand megawatts of hydroelectric energy, and over twenty million annual visitors for
On a map, Colorado is an almost perfect rectangle. With an area of 104,091 square miles, it ranks eighth among states in size. Colorado is located in the Central Time Zone of the United States. Montana 1948 is about the loss of innocence and the painful gain of wisdom. Discuss.
The Colorado River Basin starts in the Rocky Mountains and cuts through 1500 miles of canyon lands and deserts of seven US states and two Mexican states to supply a collection of dams and reservoirs with water to help irrigate cropland, support 40 million people, and provide hydroelectric power for the inland western United States [1,2]. From early settlement, rights over the river have been debated and reassigned to different states in the upper and lower basin; however, all the distribution patterns lead to excessive consumption of the resource. In 1922, the seven US states signed into the Colorado River Compact, which outlined the policy for the distribution rights to the water [3], however, this compact was written during an exceptionally
If you had the opportunity to get rich off of gold, would you? Would you be willing to leave everything you have behind to move thousands of miles across the country just for gold? In 1859, the answer for many people was yes. Word of gold found throughout Colorado spread across the country and launched the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush or also known as the Colorado Gold Rush. There are several significant events in Colorado history that have had an influential impact on the state we know today. The Colorado Gold Rush, in 1859, was the most significant event in Colorado History for several reasons: the rush attracted thousands of people to our state, initiated the mining of other resources, succored farming and ranching throughout the state, and boosted the economy of the towns here in Colorado; these benefits of the rush continue to play a role in our state still today.

The Colorado Gold Rush is one of the Gold Rushes that does not get that many attention when it comes time to talk about our nation history. Sure they talk about the Gold Rush that happened in 1848 which was the California Gold Rush. The Colorado Gold Rush didn't happen 11 years after the gold was founded in eastern part of the Rocky Mountains in Cripple Creek. When the San Francisco Gold Rush was happening it made people wanted to come to the West for a bite of that Gold but ones people got here in Colorado people had one thing on their way which was the Rocky Mountains. There was no way around the Rocky Mountains at that time it was hard because people would have wagons with all their stuff most people would leave someone of their belongings behind so they could go through easer just reach the Gold Rush in San Francisco

My family was extremely upset with my mother and wept for my return. While in jail, I met many good people who had made bad decisions in their lives. I only ate cookies and Ramen noodles, and I drank water. For the first time in my life, I had an affectionate moment with God as I called out to Him. I knew that He was the only one that would get me through this situation. I can recall being shackled at my ankles and hands while being forced to walk to go to the court room for every hearing. I called my oldest sister, Francesca, on every opportunity. I was offered a plea deal of one year in prison and seven years of parole. All I could think about was going home and starting my senior year of high school. I prayed to God for guidance, and I told myself every day that I would soon go home. My father came to see me, and for the first time in my life, I saw him cry. He was extremely hurt, and he told me to stay strong. My family tried everything to pay my $40,000 dollar bond. I was soon left with two options: take the plea or go to trial. Thinking about my future, I was willing to take the plea, but only if it were probation. I had already missed a week of my senior year, and I just wanted to go home. The public defender spoke with the Judge about the First Offender Law, and the Judge lowered the plea to 7 years of probation. On September 21, 2012, I accepted the plea deal of seven years of probation, and I was released that night. My sister picked me up, and I lived with her for a few weeks before reporting to my probation officer. Wasting no time, I returned to school the next day. My peers had heard of the destruction, and my teachers were happy to see me. I became extremely depressed, and I wanted to run away. For the first time in my life, I was portrayed as a criminal. I regretted my actions, but I did not regret defending my
Minnesota is known to be home to the Dakota. The Santee, also known as Eastern Dakota, move their villages and do different things according to the seasons. During the winter they lived off stores of supplies built up over the years. Women processed hides and gathered wood while they men were off hunting. In the spring the men went off to hunt and villagers went to sugar camps. At the sugar camps they made maple sugar and syrup. In the summer families gathered in villages while men hunted and fished and women with children cultivated crops. When the corn had been harvested they went off to harvest the wild rice from canoes. The wild rice grew in lakes so that is why they used canoes. In the fall, the men and their families went to the year’s spot for the annual hunt. All of this was essential to the Dakota’s way of life and culture.
I became a part of Colorado history Twenty-One years ago. I came to Colorado in search of a new life. A new place to start my family, and twenty years later I am here with my family. I was originally born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico. I am daughter of Lidia and Jesus Ponce. Sister to Jesus Ramon and Perla Rocio Ponce. Colorado, has been a second home to me. I feel as if I have the best of both worlds. I feel as if I have the best of the American culture and the Hispanic culture. I am also a part of history because I had all three of my children in Greeley Colorado.
I believe that the rock cycle has an impact on Colorado because of the sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rock cycles that lead up to the formation of the Earth’s mountains, and terrains. These different steps lead up to the rock cycle. To turn igneous to sedimentary, they are easily eroded, it breaks down to sediment. Sedimentary to metamorphic, sedimentary rocks are subject to pressure so it produces a chemical reaction. Metamorphic to igneous, when metamorphic rock gets hot, it melts turning it into igneous rock and this precedes the rock cycle.
Since I didn’t post bail I spent over a month in the same county jail they came to get me for a psych evaluation before my formal hearing.
At the court hearing, the judge went over my criminal charges, gave me an attorney, and increased my bail up to one million dollars since I was found guilty. The judge found me guilty of a felony for marijuana cultivation. That’s not the worst part. I was facing 20 years in prison. This was an extremely harsh reality for someone who had never been to prison before. I had no idea of what to expect and would be lying if I said I wasn 't at least a little bit nervous.
It was the most memorable since I got to dance with my crush for the very first time during JS Prom. On the other hand, what made it crucial is that I never got the chance to avoid pressure when it comes to requirements, especially when they were all lining up. I had sleepless nights which led me to have sleep deprivation and micro sleeps while in class. Well, I thank God and I felt very blessed, because despite all the challenges, the hassles of waking up early, it was all worth it because I graduated with three gold medals hanging on my neck. After graduation, I couldn’t help myself but cry, because I will surely miss my classmates, the fun we had, considering the fact, that we would be taking different paths, by the next school year, and we won’t be classmates anymore, but despite of everything, I’ve always wanted to thank them, for accepting me as who I am, and God for letting me meet
