I think the theme of Columbine would be telling the hardships of Columbine shooting. The book tells what happens in the shooting, and the characters dealing with the shooting. The book also tells what happens before and after the Columbine shooting. B. Dylan is very tall compare to Eric. He had skinny legs and arms. He’s not really handsome come to Eric. He wears a long black coat and skinny jeans. My mental image would also be very tall. He would have freckles on his face. He would look very mean all the time. C. The book was sometimes easy to read, but also hard to read. The author put a lot of information in the book which sometimes made it boring to read. Sometimes the words were hard to pronounce. The most memorable passage would be …show more content…
I also think the book doesn’t encourage copycats. Eric and Dylan have been praised by other school shooter in the past. E. The author did characterized Eric and Dylan as typical teenagers in a physical way. It was harder to understand their actions even more of how they acted around other people. They were more frightening because they acted like typical teenagers, but deep inside of them they were insane. When they were around other people, they didn’t act like killers. When they were alone, they have a killer motives. F. I think that Eric changed over the last two years. The more he got closer to the day of the shooting the more he desired to kill. He was getting smarter at fooling others. A few times he gave hints out to people about his plans, but the other people didn’t figure it out. Also, he even became more psychotic over the last two years. G. I think the killers were responsible for the killing. The parents of the killer and the policemen had a reason to feel guilty. They could of prevented the shootings if they just a little more concerned about the killers crimes. I think the parents still feel guilty because they were the ones who
4a. Because Ilse lost her only son. I believe that she is intrigued by Liesel and she is a distraction from that sadness.
One of the choices Erik Fisher made is when Eric would be mean to paul. Now paul is scared of Eric so Paul will not tell his parents what Eric does because his parent think he has very bad eyes and he cant see good. The
Then when he told Mr. Byrnes where Sarah was, it was a decision he made for both himself and Sarah, because if he hadn’t told Mr. Byrnes, then he would have been dead and unable to help her anymore. In addition, when Eric kept Sarah from going to Colorado, it was a decision for both of them because he knew that if Sarah stayed, then she could have a family, but also that Eric did not want to lose her or her friendship. Even though Eric had to choose Sarah’s safety over her friendship for different decisions of the book, he was able to do it in a way that he saved their friendship and kept her
Eric is extremely caring towards his friends and family. Even though Eric found out Sarah Byrnes could talk the whole time that she was in the hospital he did not say a word to anyone because he knew what would happen if Sarah Byrnes dad found out. “That's what I thought, you’ve been hearing me all along”(Crutcher 107). Eric knew what would happen if Sarah Byrnes were to leave the hospital, so he did not say anything. Due to the way that Eric kept the secret about Sarah Byrnes being able to talk shows how caring her is towards his friends.
other teenage guy. Eric is a good looking guy about 5’9 and weighs around 140 pounds.
Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were responsible for the 13 deaths during the Columbine Shooting on April 20, 1999. The main difference between Harris and Klebolds plan and Cho’s attacks were Harris and Klebold left documentation of their plans. They made many blogs on how to make home-made explosives, made videos documenting explosives, ammunition, and
Eric’s problem began when he was the new kid in town when he met David Hallenback, the minor character, running away from someone with ketchup all over his body, looking terrified, and glancing back again and again while he ran. By this scene, Eric could guess that Hallenback was bullied. After Hallenback left, he saw a group of boys and a girl, on their bikes. The boy who seems to be the leader Griffin asked about Hallenback. At this time, Eric could observe the relationship between Griffin’s gang and Hallenback and it
Major events have crafted the United States and other nations into what they are today. Going from world wars in the 1940’s, to civil rights movements in the 1960’s, to extravagant national debt today, have all played a part in shaping our nation. Being from rural Mississippi, world news being made here is uncommon. We see all of our major news from televisions or newspapers, and this “news” is all happening elsewhere, far from here. Whether it is a good thing that we do not make the big news or not, the fear of uncertain events still lingers. From shootings in schools to bombings in cities, we are fortunate for being seemingly far from these dangers. Even though no physical effects pertain to me, mental pain and fear stays and leaves doubt
Cullen, Dave. “The Depressive and the Psychopath: The FBI’s Analysis of the Killers Motives” The Columbine Alamac (20 April 2004)
School shootings have become well known around the world due to the coverage by the media. . These shootings are a serious concern and have parents constantly concerned about their child’s safety when they are at school and also have students thinking twice about any unusual or suspicious behavior. The media appears to play a large part in school shootings and it is important to analyze the deviant behaviors of the shooters in these horrific instances and the fear they create in schools. Does the media play a large part in school shootings or does the media play a large part in the sensationalism of school shootings and the fear they create both in schools and with parents?
It would be pretty hard to think about because I am not a psychopath and I think you would have to be psychopathic in order to know what what he was thinking and why he chose to shoot up the school.
School violence, is an issue that is hard to deal with. There are things that may be done to decrease it but it does not seem like it will ever go away. Parents send their children to school to learn, to have fun, to pass notes, and to meet new people, not to be shot at and never have the chance to come home ever again. They should not have to think or be afraid of sending their child to school and never seeing them. Last year one of the worst school shootings took place at Columbine High School. Not only did it effect the famlies of the victims and of the killers, pretty much the whole nation was involved and many people were brought in to figure out what had happened, and why it happened. This incident brought our nation together, and
He didn’t have trouble talking to females. He wasn’t shy and even had a date for prom. Before prom, Eric had committed a misdemeanor crime with Dylan. They broke into a van a stole some items. They committed more crimes in the future which eventually
Eric had fantastic evening and he appeared energetic throughout the shift. However, Eric was pacing up and down in his room and Eric did not engage in SIBs or aggressions. Both staffs reported that Eric ate all of his food that were presented to him and consumed a lot of fluids. Eric also took his evening medications. Eric seemed to be in a great mood and no signs of any
