INTRODUCTION Mass Media reaches a large part of our audiences today, whether it be from the movies, advertising, the internet, newspapers, magazines, twitter, you tube, Instagram, Facebook and so forth and because of this it can affect how we think and believe, both personally and as a society. Today, I will address three specific areas that product mass media channels have been used and has made a difference, either to me personally, or in society in general.
A biography of D. W. Griffith, film director of “The Birth of a Nation.” The channel of mass media is PBS or specifically, American Masters.

So yes, it did, and still can shape and change, the part of our society that has turned against such hatred. These days, it only needs a spark.
The second choice is “Empire” a television series that plays weekly. The product mass media channel is, twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and that is due to people wanting to be a part of the action. Because the networks are creating more shows where you can use your DVR viewing, this can mean the difference between 100 episodes to 10 for social media.
1. In what way did your example shape, change, or reinforce your own cultural values?
This was a change in my cultural values, Empire has a lot of sexual issues in their episodes and It doesn’t portray who or what I stand for, therefore it made me feel like I must explain myself, or express my values. If you read some of the responses on twitter and face book, it can get nasty and yet, not all responses are bad, it’s just the language they can use on these channels.
2. In what ways do you think they shape, change, or reinforce the cultural values of our society in general.
It’s obvious that it has changed how society use to be. When there wasn’t anyone of these outlets, society tried to watch what they said, and how they said it, but now, when you have a channel where you can freely express and show your other side, it has become a welcome mat for a group in society that doesn’t see the wrong in what they say or do.
The third choice is Dancing with the Stars, a show that comes
In our society today, control is maintained by the authorities through regulation. In North America, major regulatory systems comprise two main systems of expertise. One is the criminal justice system, which is concerned with what will we do about crime and deviance. The other is the academic system of expertise, which is concerned with why crime and deviance exists. Academic expertise is the type of discourse deployed in the article by Michael Conlon to show, with ostensible authority, that maternal smoking during pregnancy is “linked” to adult criminal behaviour.
The mass media play a significant role in a modern world, by broadcasting information in fast pace and giving entertainment to vast audiences. They consist of press, television, radio, books and the Internet. The latter is now the most developing medium, however, TV also has a wide field of influence. The mass media has brought upon a new era of idea's and changes in the world we live in. As we analysis media in depth we will find many aspects of media which overlap and some of the smallest factors and aspects of media, which create the biggest impact on society.

cultural and social beliefs. It gives power or authority to individuals to showcase their ideas .
There has always been a definitive struggle to define culture as it is so complex and means something different to each individual. Culture affects all of us in different ways resulting in multiple definitions of culture. Culture had previously been seen as a way of improvement and growth, helping us to understand our place in society and guiding us towards a better understanding of ourselves. Over the previous number of decades our society and culture has changed significantly without us even realising that this can have a number of effects on the way we live our daily lives. The major changes in our society such as industrialisation, modernisation
The media and advertising hinder do indeed hinder our being fully human. Mass media including radio, television and newspapers endeavors to shape public opinion on a variety of things. The media attempts to manipulate those values instilled by parents and society in general, thus taking away from our being human. Messages designed to influence peoples’ attitudes, desires and decisions fall upon society urging those people to buy a certain product, vote for a certain political figure, or support a “worthy” cause. The daily attack of media and advertising persuade the public to be one and the same, rather than allowing them to function as humans who follow their own beliefs.
Mass Media's Political Power There are two main issues regarding media influence in politics 1. Does presentation and coverage affect voting behaviour and choices? 2. Do media have an impact on political struggle and decide nature of debates?
Anti-Islam or “Islamophobic events” have almost tripled in the United Kingdom following a week after the terrorist attack on London Bridge and Borough Market on June 3rd, 2017 (Bilefsky). According to the office of the mayor of London, the Metropolitan Police reported that there were 120 Islamophobic events, compared to 36 the week before the June 3rd attack (Bilefsky). One of the more recent hate crimes directed towards Muslims took place on June 19th, 2017, killing an individual and leaving 11 people injured. In the attack, a British male ran over a group of Muslims who were exiting a Mosque in London after evening prayer was over. The horrific event attained global coverage from various media
The ringtone of my phone went on for five minutes without a moment’s respite. It was my alarm clock at 6:45 am. Although my mind was still in a fog when I finally got up, I turned on my iphone, and saw two friend requests on Facebook plus three new likes on Instagram. My everyday life routinely starts with me being exposed to mass media. Indeed, in the modern society, the mass media have been vested with such an enormous power that can impact multifarious aspects of our daily life.
The textbook, Media and Culture: Mass Communication in a Digital Age, written by Mr. Campbell, mentioned, “The historical development of media and communication can be traced through several overlapping phases or eras in which newer forms of technology disrupted and modified older forms—a process that many academics, critics, and media professionals began calling convergence with the arrival of the Internet.” Through a process and development, the internet came about and made things faster and more accessible. The development of the media and technology, has helped the media communicate with people from all over the world. With the internet, people are able to communicate with others,
Have you ever had an original thought? Why do we dress the way we do, watch what we watch or even live the way we do. Through our means of entertainment, it is almost a guide in how one should live their life. With the technology we have in our world we are persuaded to believe what is right and what is wrong. Although we create our own world, our thoughts were imposed upon us since the day we are born. “What if the world is some kind of show. What if we are only talents assembled by the Great Talent Scout Up Above! The Great Show of Life! Starring Everybody! Suppose entertainment is the Purpose of Life,” says Gabler. We wake up in the morning where most of us have a daily routine we go through. Why do we put on
Mass media has come a long way the past century. What started as books, newspapers, and magazines being the only way to receive any news or messages, has developed into much more than that now. The major developments in the evolution of mass media during the last century have literally changed our world and the way we get our information. These developments range from the telegraph, telephone, radio, television, and the Internet. All of which played a major role in not the way we receive information but also communicate. Instead of waiting days to get messages, we can now get them as they
