I believe I actively display the four pillars of the National Honor Society, and am honored to be able to prove myself and be considered to become a part of the invaluable experience the National Honor Society provides. The selection process began with my GPA, however I have much more to offer the program. Working alongside my peers and with my coaches and teachers, I have actively displayed not only scholarship, but service, leadership, and character as well. One truly special event that I know I will always remember from my high school years, was being a part of the project called “Second Thoughts”. Along with my completion of a leadership workshop this previous summer, five peers and I were instructed to create a project that addressed …show more content…
Collaborating with the group of well-informed and enthusiastic students, we were able to produce an in-depth presentation that informed groups of all ages attending Mitchell College’s social media and diversity workshop. This was special because of the other students I was able to meet and share thoughts with and adults who understood the gravity and importance of our presentation. Being a part of Civil Air Patrol, an Air Force auxiliary, has truly allowed me to further develop my leadership abilities as well. Working to learn the chain of command and customs of the military, I have learned more thoroughly the process and importance of taking orders before being allowed to give them. This is a valuable asset that I apply to my other areas of leadership, such as my golf team. I take pride in my ability to encourage the team not just during the matches, but to push themselves to be their best during practice and workouts. My integrity is prevalent on the golf course as well, allowing for my honest character to represent not only myself but my team and school. Some days can be tough, where my score on the course is high and my disappointment in myself rises, however I maintain a professional and positive mindset to keep my team in the
It is a great honor to be among the commendable students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is discernible for showing an interest in students with exemplary grades, great character, leadership, and service. Last year I was enrolled in a tenth grade honors language class, this year I am taking an advanced placement college course. I am enlisted in all honors classes and I strive to do the best that I can not only academically, but in all activities I participate in. I am a strenuous worker and have great character. Everything I try, I give all my effort, for example, in track I show good sportsmanship and cheer on my fellow athletes at every meet. I also show great leadership qualities.
I am excited to be considered as a candidate for National Honor Society (NHS). Through friends and family, I know the main characteristics a NHS member must hold include scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Through hard work, I have been able to hold a GPA over 3.8 in both 9th and 10th grade; this shows my strong dedication to scholarship. I am a dedicated person who enjoys giving back to the community; I have participated in many volunteer activities, and I would love the opportunity to continue my volunteer work as a NHS member. If I am given the privilege of NHS membership, I will continue to uphold my commitment to service and leadership.
The four pillars of National Honor Society are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Throughout high school, I have demonstrated and developed these pillars in many different ways. Scholarship includes working hard in the classroom and also becoming a great candidate for a multitude of scholarships; a candidate for scholarships is defined by the rest of the pillars. I have avidly been involved in many leadership positions, which have increased my confidence and helped me grow as a leader. Due to my involvement in these positions, my character has improved. I have become more aware of my actions towards other people and have developed into a very compassionate and empathetic person. Similarly, I have participated in many different
As someone who loves new people and new experiences, I am confident I would be an energetic and positive contribution to my class and community. Having gone through two knee surgeries within two years I found that positivity is an invaluable part of recovering as well as maintaining the same drive and passion as before the two injuries. The ability to be positive is a precursor to building resiliency, and is, therefore, one of the most essential traits a successful person can have. In addition to staying positive and upbeat, I also find it imperative to give back to the community in which I live, wherever that community may be. Participating in the National Honor Society instilled in me the significance of serving one's community. Helping the

The group learns how to become fantastic leaders and beneficial members of their community. Each member has to excel in four areas: character, leadership, service, and scholarship. I believe that I demonstrate these four qualities within and outside of school. If given the chance, I would be elated and committed to learn how to a difference and impact on my local community and classmates

I am greatly honored of having the opportunity of applying to the National Honor Society. To most students, National Honor Society is just an extra tassel on graduation day, but to me, I see it as an introduction to our future. I have been looking forward to joining this prestigious organization since the beginning of freshman year. Throughout this past two scholastic years, I have admired the hard work that the students have done to help the community, and I believe that I can play a part in their hard work in this upcoming year.

I am tremendously honored to be a candidate for the National Honor Society. I have seen such sincere values in many of my peers who have been inducted in the last years, and am thrilled to have a chance to join them. The values NHS represents match so closely with my own. One of the most important characteristics NHS symbolizes is leadership. Practically my whole life I have worked towards becoming a strong leader. Ten years ago when I first entered cub scouts, I was shy and absolutely terrified of public speaking or leading anyone. However, over the years many leadership opportunities were presented to me, and I began to improve.
I feel as I represent the core basis of the National Honor Society such as LEADERSHIP, SERVICE, and CHARACTER in a multitude of ways, here they are. I was a born leader, from the age of five when I started sports I took on a leadership role to the point I was essentially a second coach on the field or court. Whereas at the age of nine until now I have been a team captain to almost every baseball and basketball team I have been a part despite being younger than most. Along with being a team captain, I even devoted time to umpiring Little League baseball games and coaching and ensuring player development for kids of all ages. The summer before the start of ninth grade I was selected as a representative of my middle school to take part of JA BizTown business and leadership
The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. The skills I have shown in devoting myself to my academics can be easily translated into my dedication for the other aspects of leadership, service and character. Having previously held a officer role in the National Junior Honor Society I have gained experience
Being inducted into National Honors Society requires a student to demonstrate all of the four qualities many of our role models in the present and in the past have possessed, which include: scholarship, service, leadership and character. As I’m considered a candidate for this group, I already possess the quality of scholarship and it is my duty in this paper to show that I hold the other three important attributes needed to qualify for this institution.
It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.
Everyday, countless amounts of people are working hard, trying to change the world for the better. They are researching cures for cancer or taking twelve hour shifts to help keep oceans clean. There are people who are working towards a better world, and making life safe for the children in need, the animals in danger, and the men fighting for our country. Seeing these changes happen has motivated me to want to be a part of these developments. I wish to serve those around me, and believe that if I can have a positive impact on my community, it can affect the rest of the world. Therefore, I have made it my goal to be a part of the National Honor Society, in hopes that I can help my school, Middleville, and all who have impacted me. I believe that I represent the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and hope to use these qualities so that others may benefit.
