“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.” This quote it by Albert Einstein. Albert Einstein is a physicist that was born in Germany. Some of his accomplishments are learning that the universe was dynamic. He also created a major part in atomic energy, E=MC2. It's relevant because I tried something new that I’ve never done before.

A crucial event that I attended this semester was the Woman In Isenberg Conference. At this conference I was given the opportunities to connect and meet with alumni. I, through much preparation, was able to successful network and have useful conversations with some of the woman at the event. This day long event really was focused on creating strong connections with not only our peers but other successful women in modern day business. Throughout the day there were many different chances to listen to panels or professional personal talk about what their passions were. One of the workshops that I attended at this event was the public speaking workshop. I especially liked this workshop because I’ve always had a hard time speaking in front of crowds.
Two of our fellow seniors, Curtis Robinson and Sumayyah Singletary, have taken the initiative to plan an unofficial class trip. The following is a message from them:
I just want to thank you for what you have accomplished for the California School District these past years. I do have one concern though, and I am sure you have looked into it before, but I would like you to reconsider the situation. In past years, many students have wondered why we do not have a soccer team. Having a soccer team would open up so many different paths in the high school for students, staff, and even the community.
Need an emotional lift? Or need to blow off some steam after a stressful day? According to a 2006 research paper published by University of Texas at Austin, a workout at the gym or a brisk 30-minute walk can help.(Logos) Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier and more relaxed. Even though this was our class’ first speech, not only did everyone bring exciting topics to discuss, but we were also able to effectively use the conventions of an informative speech. Not everything was perfect yet, as there are still some tweaks or improvements that can be made as we strive to better our public speaking skills. Taking a look at the speeches by Mariapia, Elizabeth, and Ashley I will evaluate their speeches for effective openings, notable transitions, and other achievements in their organization or delivery. In doing so, I will assess the success and potential shortcomings of each speaker in their informative speech, before reflecting on my own speech, in order for the speakers and myself to reflect on our public speaking skills
Overall the speaker was amazing during her speech she had a testimonial speech that we didn’t know anything about, and how this project was special to her. The speaker had nice personal appearance, posture, and body movement. She also had some visual aids about the types of food that was given out to the people at the shelter.

The World Wide Fund for Nature or WWF for short has worked at reducing our carbon footprint for over 45 years. Even since 1985, the World Wildlife Fund Network has invested over $1.165 billion in more than 11,000 projects. According to the WWF website, their mission is to conserve nature which they are actively doing in 100 countries with 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. There are several ways that everyone can do their part in supporting WWF. Supporters can donate money, adopt a species, or take action and directly help conserve our environment. I am going to discuss WWF’s cause and importance, how they are working to conserve nature, and how all of you can help support the cause.
An American literary theorist and novelist, Kenneth Burke, once said, “Wherever there is persuasion, there is rhetoric, and wherever there is rhetoric, there is meaning.” (Burke) Barack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr. and Fannie Lou Hamer all delivered powerful persuasive speeches that will go down in history. The use of these motivational individuals’ language and persuasion played a pivotal role within the civil rights movement, the movement that achieved the most important breakthrough in the equal rights legislation. We can observe this in the speakers’ rhetoric devices like ethos, logos and pathos.
