Over millions of animals are abused and killed every year by horrible people. They would beat them until they can’t take it anymore. Animals don’t need that in their life. They’re like glass. Once you break it, you cannot put the pieces back together. In this case, the horrible memories that keep replaying in their minds. They cannot seem to put together happy memories by themselves from what they have experienced in their lives. Animals need to be treated right because they are living things, loyal, and can be used to serve humans with disabilities.
There are some who try to have a bond with animals simply because of their loneliness. Peretti says, “Male and female respondents displayed attitudes and feelings of care and consideration toward their pets and believed there was an emotional bond between themselves and their animals” (Peretti). The ones who treat animals terribly make it seem like the animals and themselves have no heart whatsoever and that is why they do this kind of stuff. There are others who treat animals with respect because they need something to keep them content. The animals also need someone to love all the time. Animals are just like people. Both of them are living things and have the same emotions.

Malamud explains, “Though my definition seems concisely focused- ‘service animals rendered assistance to people with disabilities’- consider the propositions that, in some sense, all people have disabilities: none of us is perfect” (Malamud). People who have problems after difficult situations in their lives or even if they have been in the military do have service dogs to help guide them. They also help people that are blind, deaf, or even some that have autism. They are important because the dog will take care of them and help with any trouble they
Under the ADA's revised regulations, our company does not discriminate against people with service animals, but in order to be able to use a service animal at the company there are rules. Even though documentation that the service animal is trained is not a necessary we will make sure that the animal is trained in the task that helps his owner with their disability.
Although, the ADA, (Americans with Disabilities Act) does not consider service dogs or animals actually service related, a lot of people (worldwide) need a service dog to help them complete simple everyday tasks. The dogs help a lot considering they are not a human that understand how we we connect with each other. They know when we are feeling down and when we get sick making
It is misunderstood that service dogs are only for the blind but this is not true. Service dogs assist people with many types of disabilities. According to Dr. Demling, Certified Behaviorist at Pet Wellness Academy, dogs also provide “Unconditional love. A 100% acceptance without judgment when a person is depressed, anxious, lonely, wearing the same clothes as yesterday and can’t get out of bed helps people feel like they have a true friend during their difficulties.” (qtd. In Bennett). There are service dogs for the blind, deaf, people with anxiety, depression, people who have seizures and people with autism. Service dogs make their owner’s lives happier by helping them overcome their disabilities and
For many years, people have used dogs as service animals. Today, there are many different animals used to help people with different needs. Whether someone has a disability or someone needs a guide, there is a service animal for almost anyone in need. Wouldn’t it be incredible if someone walked into school or work with a potbelly pig? From miniature horses to monkeys to potbelly pigs, service animals can help people in many ways.
Often, anxiety disorders, depression, agoraphobia, and other emotional impairments are treated with medication and extensive counseling. Those suffering physical, mental, sensory, and intellectual disabilities commonly are treated with service animals. Individuals with a psychiatric disability, by the ADA, do not qualify for service dogs, even if they come with several benefits. I believe that anybody suffering any kind of disability, provided they are diagnosed with a severe case, should qualify for a service animal. They encourage getting out of the house, could potentially decrease the number of number of suicides, and defeat the long-term effects of antidepressants.
There are some people who intentionally harm animals because of their low self-esteem. “These are people who intentionally hurt animals because they enjoy hurting things, or because it makes them feel powerful. Many of these people would hurt other people if they could get away with it. They just choose to hurt animals because animals are more helpless than people,” found by the American Prosecution Research Institute, in the article of "Real Issues".
“Veterans report that service dogs help break their isolation. People will often avert their eyes when they see a wounded veteran. But when the veteran has a dog, the same people will come up and say, 'Hi' to pet the dog and then strike up a conversation.” This quote from United States Senator Al Franken is a shining example of the power that a service animal can have to improve the quality of life for those with special needs who have a service animal. Imagine!
The Different Kinds of Service Animals Some people think that only dogs can be service animals. “A common misperception is that only dogs can be trained to help people with a disability – and those dogs must be Golden Retrievers or a similar breed” (Turnbull). Research shows that a lot of other animals can be trained to be service animals. It is a normal conception that dogs are the only animal eligible to be a service animal but research shows other animals are capable of this.
In the past several years, I have developed a keen interest in Service dogs and helping those who need them. A Service dog is an animal that is protected by the ADA, FDA, and ACAA, and they are considered medical equipment for those people. A dog is considered a Service animal if their handler has a disability that impacts their daily life severely, and the dog would be able to do tasks to mitigate the symptoms of the disability. However, unlike some other countries, people do not need a doctor's note to train and bring a service animal with them in public. Besides the common seeing eye dog, there are other disabilities animals can help people with, like depression, PTSD, anxiety, diabetes, and epilepsy.
Service dogs are a type of dogs that are specially trained to do specific responsibilities to help people who have disabilities, such as people with visual impairment. The dog’s role in this case is to guide them around the obstacles, stop at step ladders, and help them cross the street. Also, service dogs trained to help people with hearing impairment. They trained in a way to alert their partners to sounds and lead them to the source of it. On the other hand, service dogs help people with mental illnesses to take their pills at certain times of the day and carry medical supplies for them.
A service animal is any dog that is trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. The difference between a service animal and a regular pet is that a service animal does work/tasks that must be directly related to the handler’s disability. Service animals have been helping disabled humans since 1927. There are three types of service animals: guide animals, hearing animals, and service animals. A guide dog helps to guide the blind; a hearing dog helps to signal the hearing impaired to noises; a service dog helps do work for patients with disabilities other than blindness and deafness.
In this article, Demeo claims that animal cruelty is a law and wants people to obey by it and respect their animals and love them. He argues that animals are loving creatures and want owners to show them respect like they do to other people. I argue the same thing about owners beating or abusing their pets. Animals act like your best friend. I can use Demo’s piece because it tells me that animal cruelty is a crime and if someone abuses it then it’s the law in 47 out of 50 states in America then you will be in jail for a year if you abuse or beat an animal.
According to the website Official Service Dog Registry some physical disabilities that service dogs can help with include blindness, asthma, seizures, diabetes, balance issues and numerous more. Some mental disabilities that service dogs can help with would be autism, depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dyslexia, bipolar disorder and more. In the article Brace and mobility support dogs: Everything you need to know from the website Anything Pawsible, it stated “Brace and Mobility Support Dogs are a type of Service Dog trained to provide their disabled handler with assistance moving from place to place.” This relates to the physical disabilities listed above. For mental disabilities, The dogs act as emotional support to their owner. For example, people with depression or bipolar disorder can possibly feel less stressed or upset when their service dog is around them.
Two large reasons people abuse animals are A) The person experienced abuse or bullying themselves and B) They have it set in their mind because of maybe what they weren’t taught growing up to be mindful of animals. When a person is bullied and abused they tend to find some way to vent and some of them find this venting process in mistreating animals. The other reason, not being taught when growing up, is also common. When someone isn’t taught not to do something, it’s only natural that they don’t know not to do it; they don’t think what they are doing is wrong. So if we want to even slightly reduce animal abuse we need to stop bullying others so that they don’t, in turn, bully animals, and be sure to teach everyone starting at a young age that abusing an animal is cruel and
There are many animals who deal with abuse everyday, and that is not okay. If an animal is neglected or abused the pet will be taken away and the caretaker will be charged $1,500. Animals are very loyal, such as dogs, dogs are one of the most loyal animals you can own. When abused, they don’t know where they went wrong. They only know that you are mad at them. Animals, such as humans, shouldn’t be abused or neglected. Most animals who are abused or neglected are usually abused unintentionally, but the second most are abused on purpose. The people who abuse animals on purpose sometimes deal with mental illnesses, were abused as children, or have a hard time dealing with stress or anger. Animals are just like humans who have been abused. They are usually skittish and shy. People tend to see animals differently than humans, but they are the same in my eyes. For example, if I locked you in my basement, starved, and beat you, I’d be charged with attempted murder and kidnapping. Pets have the same rights as you to live freely, but people don’t see it. You are able to live on your own and take care of yourself, but they
