Thanksgiving celebration in 4finance office in Canada Photo review of “Fare Share Food Bank” fundraising and celebration Recently we wrote about Thanksgiving celebration in our Canadian office and their support to the local organization “Fare Share Food Bank” who help families in need. We are proud to say that our team managed to fundraise three large boxes containing more than 65 kg food for the organization!
The crisp, cool, and cinnamon air filled the morning of Thanksgiving in 1987. Although I was only two years and eleven months old, I remember the scratchy, fuzzy, purple- footed pajamas that I was wearing that morning. After I woke up, I "helped" my mom make her famous orange- cranberry relish, got dressed in my cream sweater dotted with cherries and my navy pleated skirt, topped off with my favorite cream fuzz- warn tights, and before I knew it we were out the door to my grandmother's house. After an early dinner with my grandparents, mom, and dad, my grandfather and dad left to catch the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day football game, leaving the rest of us to find entertainment of our own.
Heavenly smells in the air, footballs on T.V, family is gathered around, and a comfortable homey feel of my grandmother’s house makes Thanksgiving one of my favorite meals of the year. I will always have memories of thanksgiving at my grandmothers. The smell that rushes your nose as you walk in to the house. So many mouthwatering smells go through the air at my grandmother’s thanksgiving. Her Thanksgiving dinner never fails to fulfill my expectations. With the whole family gathered and the dinner table full of delicious food, I can’t help but feel content.
Holidays are always celebrated no matter religion, beliefs, or culture. Some are recognized more than others but none two are as highly recognized like the cherished Christmas and Thanksgiving holidays. The pair may seem vastly different, as they are two completely separate occasions, but in actuality they do share very similar attributes. Many of the similarities and differences are about to be explained, so here goes.
On Thursday, October 20th, the 71st Annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner took place in New York. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton took the stage, just like every other presidential candidate in the past, to entertain the audience with light humor. The purpose of this dinner is to raise money to help poor families in the Catholic Archdiocese of New York. This year, the dinner raised a record $6 million dollars, despite the behaviors of the candidates. This dinner is typically an opportunity for the candidates to show the country that they are only “temporary adversaries, not permanent enemies, and that leaders have shared values that help hold the system together” (Louis, 2016). Unfortunately, Trump and Clinton took this dinner as an opportunity to make malicious jabs at each other one more time.
I'm doing well and I had a relaxing Thanksgiving break. I hope your break was good as well.
It was the dreadful day kids running around and people stomping, jumping. I was built to withstand a elephant stamped but nothing like this. I live on break road in Georgia I was built in 1999 and if I do say so myself I'm a beautiful house. Now back to the dreadful day it was call thanksgiving everybody comes the wife family and the husband. The children are horrible because they drop things lot of things that stain my floor and turn it pink.
The healing facility, worked by the St. Joseph Clinical framework, as of late revealed that a blunder made by an individual from staff at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Northern California brought about the patient’s information of 33,702 being acquired by a cheat. The robbery happened amid a thievery at the clinic's Redwood Local Clinical Group working environment when offices were broken into and cheaters figured out how to discover a hard drive had decoded temporarily saved records of just about 34,000 people. The decoded drive had been placed in an opened staff locker overnight and in the morning the individual from staff found that drive was absent.
Uwem Akpan’s story, “An Ex-Mas Feast” is a story of the struggles that one family goes through to give gifts on their upcoming Christmas season. Akpan introduces the reader to the struggles of the main characters, which directly ties into the details of impoverished town that they live in. Jigana, one of the story’s main characters, starts off as a naïve 8 year old little boy who was anxious to start going to school. In a stark contrast, Maisha, the eldest sister at 12 years old, held her own and prostituted to bring in money for her family. The second oldest, Naema, was closer to Maisha than any of the others, and Maisha gave her tips and tricks of her trade. Akpan begins the story by saying that the
I can’t believe my first college semester is almost over. Key word is “almost” because the weeks following thanksgiving break will be critical for me. Even though it’s almost over, I must finish strong. I wouldn’t want all my hard work to go to waste. All the A’s that I earned so far must remain A’s for me in order for me to be happy with my academic performance. These next 3 weeks are going to be hectic, but also relaxing.
I have figured my essay out, and I hope that it is not like a “report” right now. Could you please help me to check it, and give me some other comments too?
With six people living in a small house conflicts do arise. Things like who is using all the hot water, eating the last of the leftovers, and fighting for a spot to sit in front of the television. The one conflict that seems to stand out the most was an argument over sugared cereal. Earlier that day Grandma was up from Oregon and she left the house a box of Frosted Flakes. The box of cereal that my grandma gave us wasn’t even full, but I called at least one bowl. My older sister Danielle was bent on getting some cereal, and sure enough, she ate the rest of the box. She was on her third bowl and my siblings came up and called her out for it and it morphed into an aggressive and tense argument. While they were arguing I looked into the bowl and there were a bunch of tiny black ants floating in her cereal bowl. They were helplessly drowning in a bowl of sugar and milk. Danielle freaked out, and that was that.
While children are growing up in America, they are told several tales of America’s establishment and history. However, these stories are generally not told as they actually happened. An instance of this is the story of the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is explained as this elaborate ceremony where the Pilgrims and Indians gathered in harmony at this large harvest in celebration of their coming together. According to the primary document of William Bradford’s journal, Thanksgiving didn’t pan out quite as it is explained to Americans today. In the film, The Addams Family Values, the Addams children take part in a traditional, yet misconceived celebration of the first Thanksgiving. This
Thanksgiving, most Americans celebrate Thanksgiving but not everyone celebrates it the same way as you. Grandma’s house, that’s where i always go for thanksgiving. But that doesn’t mean that everyone else who celebrate thanksgiving goes to their grandma’s house, some people don’t even leave their home. Every person has a unique way to spend their thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks to your life and everyone and everything in it. Thanksgiving is thought of in different ways and is celebrated in unlike ways. Families have divergent meals, places that they visit on Thanksgiving, and activities that they enjoy taking part in on Thanksgiving. Overall, no matter what traditions there are, what meals you have, or the activities enjoyed on Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving is truly a wonderful holiday.
Thanksgiving is fast approaching. Every year, my family and I sit around the table, thankful and grateful of our current situation. We live in a nice, cozy house and this year, our family is hosting a feast with our relatives. There will be a on a whole array of festive food- creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, buttery corn roasted to perfection with a side of flakey biscuits and candied yam. Of course, I can’t forget about the turkey and stuffing; Thanksgiving wouldn’t be the same for us without it. The whole house will be decorated, and all the children will put on their fancy clothes. I can almost hear the faint sound of Charlie Brown coming from the TV in the background. We have it good, but the same cannot be said for the Indigenous people. To me, it’s a holiday where I can spend time with my family. To them, it’s a yearly, painful reminder of the genocide of their people. This year will not be any different for them. This Thanksgiving, they will be sitting out in the freezing cold, protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline to protect their land and the land of millions of people.
