Vertical and Horizontal Integration of Health Systems in Various Regions
In the health care system, various integration strategies involve services to improve the delivery of care. However, these services include a vertical and horizontal integrated health system that will help organizations increase market share, become more diversified, and achieve cost advantages by using existing operation to offer new products or services (Shi & Singh, 2015).
Vertical Integrated Health Systems
For example, Florida Hospital, who is a member of the Adventist Health System, is a vertically integrated health care system that first started in 1908 with a small group of Seventh Day Adventists (Florida Hospital System, 2017). It is known as one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare organizations in the country with 22 campuses throughout Florida (Florida Hospital System, 2017).
