“Do you like my pad, Wilde?”
“It’s not bad. I mean, it’s better than any home on earth, and certainly bigger,” I said.
“A man’s home should be his castle, Buddy.”
We stepped off the elevator into a huge entryway with walls made of glass, floor to ceiling. The view of the city lights was breathtaking.
“This is very nice, God. You can see everything from up here, but it’s no place to be in a tornado.”
“Not to worry, my child, you’re safe with me.”
“Is that so? You could have had me fooled when I was going through Life Review.”
“What was wrong with that, Buddy?”
“Are you serious? When the room you’re in starts bucking back and forth like a wild bull ride, and the roof caves in, followed by balls of fire – that, to me, is not safe. I

“What did Jesus tell his disciples when they asked him about his ability to create miracles?”
“I don’t remember. To get lost?” I was tired and in a sarcastic mood.
“No, he said unto them, ‘These things, and even greater things shall you do.’ I gave the same power to man that I gave to Christ, but they killed the messenger before he could share the message with the masses, fearing that he would empower others with the same ability as himself.”
“I wish I’d have known about that while I was still on earth.”
“You did,” he said, “but there was doubt attached, just like when you prayed, and I can’t bless anything that is delivered to me wrapped in uncertainty.”
“I believed in the prayers I spoke, God.”
“Try your drink,” he said, somewhat irritated, “then I’ll show you something.” I took a big gulp,“Umm…”
“How is it?” he asked.
“Better than my prayer life.”
“Put that down and come over here, Wilde!”
I set my drink on the bar and followed God over to the window.
“You see that building down there,” he said. “That’s Prayer Central, the clearinghouse for every little request a human being could ever make.”
“That’s a big place,” I remarked. It looked like an office building about fifty stories high and it encompassed a full city block.
“Yes, it is. Processes over one billion prayer requests each day—and not a single one has ever gone unanswered.”
IF GOD IS SAYING NO TO 30% OF THE PRAYERS, HOW ARE THOSE PRAYERS BEING ANSWERED AS
Ans. The Spirit that spoke to the prophets in former days—and I was greatly astonished, and for two years prayed continually, whenever my duty would permit—and then again I had the same revelation, which fully confirmed me in the impression that I was ordained for some great purpose in the hands of the Almighty. Several years rolled round, in which many events occurred to strengthen me in this my belief. At this time I reverted in my mind to the remarks made of me in my childhood, and the things that had been shewn me—and as it had been said of me in my childhood by those by whom I had been taught to pray, both white and black, and in whom I had the greatest confidence, that I had too much sense to be raised, and if I was, I would never be of any use to any one as a slave. Now finding I had arrived to man’s estate, and was a slave, and these revelations being made known to me, I began to direct my attention to this great object, to fulfil the purpose for which, by this time, I felt assured I was intended.”
Things aren't right here on planet Earth. We all know this. Sickness, poverty, injustice, and oppression are not God's intention or design. Many of our prayers will be devoted to fixing what is wrong in our bodies, our finances, our relationships, our world. The children of God continue to pray, even though many wrongs have not yet been corrected. Does it do any good? Does all this praying have any traction with God?
Thou didst promise to hearken to our supplications, to dry our tears and to give us consolation and relief. Never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, either for the common welfare, or in personal anxieties, was left unaided.
Prayer is an essential to any kind of religious faith. Over the years and years of believing in a higher power,
"Tried to teach him The Lord's Prayer once." His eyes traveled out beyond the hut for a moment, toward the gritty, featureless hardpan. "Guess this ain't Lord's Prayer country. You're a gunslinger. That right?"
“I don’t know how I survived; I was weak, rather shy; I did nothing to save myself. A miracle? Certainly not. If heaven could or would perform a miracle for me, why not for others more deserving than myself? It was nothing more than chance.”
12- “Believers who are amazed by Jesus tell others, and they in turn are amazed.” When we tell others about Christ, great things happen through the power of Christ.
“I was not so sure,
Ray nudged Casey, “Look at that.” He pointed to a beautiful mansion surrounded by moss-draped trees.
“You don’t just feed junk to someone after two months of-” He cut himself off, groaning and rubbing his temples. It didn’t look like the coffee was doing much for him.
“He was advised to be content with knowing that they could work miracles for him, provided he did not insist on learning their nature. That was alight with Billy Pilgrim. He was grateful. He was glad” (137).
Faith and the Faithless If we do not believe in our faith wholeheartedly, how far can these false prayers take us and can we truly call ourselves faithful? In the book of Matthew, he follows the story of Jesus and his journey to attempt to redeem the people of the earthly kingdom while spreading God's will. On Jesus' pilgrimage he performs miracles for the followers who have a strong conviction such as healing the sick and casting out demons. Jesus granted some of his abilities to his disciples whose task were to help perform miracles, spread the good word, and instill faith in people who were lost in life. However, as we discover in Matthew chapter 17:14-21, the disciples are not able to cast out a destructive demon from a young boy.
He was fully God, yet fully man. He dared not change the plan without the Father’s approval. He states, “everything is possible for you.” This was not to remind God, it was putting His situation in God’s hands.
“Yes.” she answered blankly. At first sight, the man standing in front of her wasn’t impressive, nor a surprise.
Prayer is an essential discipline of the Christian faith. History and cultural differences show us that many people engage in many different ways and techniques to pray and communicate with God. How do you find the right way for you?
