The group project that we came up with is a daytime party, called a darty that is going to take place here on campus. Within regard to our name, it was very hard to come up with a creative name that would be catchy in order for people to start spreading the word about our event. The name that we ended up coming up with was Dirty on Hoggard Lawn. Since Hoggard Lawn is the biggest lawn that we have on campus, we figured that it would be the perfect place to have activities that consist off a slip n’ slide, food and drinks, live music being sung by our Seahawkapellas or our Seabelles, inflatable slides, and many games. Also, if we have a party on campus with adult supervision, the students would feel more comfortable and safe and would not have to worry about the dangerous things that can happen during a party. With rape and lacing drinks being a big problem in today's society, it is good to have a “safe zone” where people can come together and enjoy a good time. Although not everyone would come sober, if you would want to drink before, then it would be their own choice, and it is not part of the party. By throwing a darty, we will also be creating a sense of community in-between the first year students and transfer students. Overall, I think that we were a good group. The topic that we chose was good, as well as our meeting dates. We would meet once a week on Wednesday after class in the library to touch base and see where we were as far as the project went, which was very helpful. In my opinion, the class time that we were given did not really go as planned. We kind of did nothing even though we had a lot of time. We also mostly did split the work between everyone evenly, which was nice that everyone held up their end of the project. When it came to the work load, I think that as a group we did a good job at splitting everything up and having the opportunity to have everyone contribute to the project, versus one person do all of the work.
