Biology has always been a fascination since my primary education especially when my teacher started one particular class claiming to reveal the secret of life. She started to explain what is known as the “Central Dogma” of Molecular Biology. This framework of life in its simplest form piqued my interest in Biology.

This steered towards choosing Biology as my main stream in my higher secondary education. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate study in Bachelor of Technology at SRM University, India in Biotechnology with Medical module as my major. It provided me with a sturdy foundation of theoretical as well as experimental skills in courses such as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Genetics, Vector Biology and Gene Manipulation, Animal and Plant Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering to name a few. This is my solid ganglion for further studies and research.

The sharing of ideas and new findings has always been a part of my life. Presentations and seminars were a perfect opportunity for me to explore beyond the syllabus and were

N. Selvamurugan. This included hands-on experience with Stem Cell Culture techniques, RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, and protein isolation, Real-Time PCR, Western Blotting, Primer Designing to name a few. This training molded me into an independent researcher that accordingly led to work on my undergraduate thesis on the following title: “Regulation of bone transcription factors by microRNAs during Mesenchymal Stem Cell Differentiation towards Osteoblast”. The miRNAs are post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression that can play a vital role in manipulating major pathways at a molecular level. This can utilized for therapeutic approach for various diseases in the future, herein lays the basis of my
