Ethical Issues In The Medical Field

What are ethical problems and what do they really mean? In my opinion, I think that ethical problems are situations where someone has to choose between alternatives of whether something is ethical or unethical. Some believe that people in the medical field only have practical issues to deal with but the truth, which most people know is that doctors deal with more ethical problems than practical ones. Issues such as vaccination, abortion, human cloning, euthanasia, life support and etc are just some of the issues that doctors deal with. I will expand more about these ethical issues to explain how doctors deal with these situations on a daily basis. Vaccinations such as swine flu shots may be given to people for protection but to some families they may be against their religious views. Say that a child is asked to take a swine flu shot in order to participate in something but that child’s family will not let the child get it because it goes against their religious beliefs. With the advancement of modern technology, it is now easier to keep someone alive for a longer period of time. Though the topic of life support stirs up a lot of controversy because some say that if a person is brain dead then what is the point of putting them on life support, is it not better to relieve them and let them go? I believe that in a situation like this it is better to let that individual to go because they are in pain whether they able to say it or not. Though on this decision of putting someone on life support is not opposed by the doctors, they do recommend that not putting the specific patient on it just because it would be better for the patient.
