A moral person will not avoid conflict. They will take it head on and do all in their power to resolve it. In addition one must care for others and have the ability to view situations from someone else’s standpoint. Sister Aloysius is a moral person, but she doesn’t meet all these guidelines, especially those about open mindedness. For example, in the movie Doubt, a dreadful problem came to Sister Aloysius’ presence. Once she decided her verdict on Father Flynn, no one could change her mind. Although strong will power can be a strength, gone too far it may become a problem. Her inability to look at both sides of a issue may cause her to make immoral actions. Although, it is imperative that a moral person makes the right decisions, especially when dealing with another person’s life. Father Flynn was a large part of many young children’s life without realizing it. He was a role model. He was a leader. He was their priest. At sometimes though, Father Flynn was the only one there for the students. For example, when Donald Miller moved to the school, nobody was including him. Donald found comfort in Father Flynn. Here, Father Flynn was being a very moral and caring person. He wanted to make sure Donald felt at home. On the other hand, Father Flynn used his power to take advantage of the young boy. This is a decision that could potentially ruin Donald’s life. A moral person would never force a minor to commit an act like this. In this situation Father Flynn was no longer doing what was the best for the child, but for himself. When weighing all the options, Father Flynn is not a moral person. Even though at sometimes her is caring to others who are neglected, in the end he all he cares about is himself and how others view him. Making him an immoral
