Ethics, Conflict Management, And Organizational Commitment

This paper will discuss the following three topics of ethics, conflict management, and organizational commitment. By exploring these different areas in a business context, we can overall have a better understanding of why individuals choose to behave a certain way when on the job. For ethical decision-making, I will explore the steps involved in the decision-making process and what internal factors of an individual cause he or she to make an ethical or unethical choice. In terms of conflict management, I will discuss previous works of literature that contribute to the overall study of this topic and experiments that give researchers a better understanding of the components and process involved in resolving conflicts. I will then discuss the topic of organizational commitment and what factors influence company employees to stay with a company. Analysis of Critical Issues: Ethical Decision Making The way an individual makes ethical or unethical decisions in business has been dissected by researchers for years. Jaana Woiceshyn created a model that describes the steps in which a person makes decisions and tells the reader the reason it is so critical to understand this process is because “the better we understand how people make ethical decisions, the better we are equipped to make such decisions and to affect their outcomes” (2011, p. 311).
