Ethos In The Gettysburg Address

After reading the Gettysburg address, it showed the civil war depicted a deep shatter during the eighteenth century in the American society because it was said to be the bloodiest battle of the American civil war. This was a war within the nation of America but not from another country. The war was about dividing the union of the North and Confederacy of the south because they both had different beliefs. The war which was fought on July 1863 was a unified victory which stopped General Robert E Lee from invading the North the second time. It was a three day battle which involved so many casualties. As a result of this war, Abraham Lincoln went to Gettysburg in order to dedicate Gettysburg National Cemetery to use to honor the soldiers who had fallen as a result of this war. His speech at the cemetery is what we now know as the Gettysburg address. This speech has just ten sentences and 272 words but Lincoln was able to use this speech to make a lasting impact that would not just be for the audience at Gettysburg, but will also be remembered throughout history. The speech conveyed was about the war and the beginning of the human rights and reasons why soldiers gave their lives. He reassured the benefits that the founding fathers had made during the declaration of independence and the constitution. Abraham Lincoln presumed that the war would end when there is a union victory but he also wants the people to know that if the country merges together as one,
