Everyone learns in different ways, and that is exactly why more than one learning styles exist; to fulfil everyone’s needs! Although each learning styles are different, all are certainly effective in their own unique ways.

The effectiveness of using different senses for encoding information varies for each individuals, but for auditory learners, they react to auditory stimuli the fastest, which enables them to learn and store knowledge most efficiently through methods like reading the material out loud or listening
After answering questions from Learning Style Inventory I found out that I am a visual learner. Which means I like to organize work to avoid distractions. Makes sense to me I hate to work where all paperwork is all over the place, I actually have to organize it so I won’t be distracted. I like as well to use flash card, visual strategies to improve memory. I also like to do list, to make sure I did everything I was supposed to do today. The way that an individual learns can shape their entire life. I personally struggle when it comes to learning topics within math and sciences. After reading about the different learning styles I understand better as to why that is. It is common sense that everyone is different, so it makes sense that we all learn differently. There are eight learning styles that were outlined and discussed in the textbook. While reading and researching about them I was able to easily put each of the learning styles into three categories: (1) I have those characteristics, (2) I have some of those characteristics, and (3) I am definitely not that. Understanding how you learn and the best way for you to retain the information you are given is key to being learning the material and being a successful student. Especially as a freshman in college everything is taken to such a higher level and there are much higher expectations than in high school. In this paper I will be discussing the different types of learning styles and which ones I can benefit from the most. The Learning Style is made up of thirty-nine statements completing the sentence, “I learn and remember best by…”, are given value by the respondent based upon a Likert Scale from 5 (most preferred) to 1 (least preferred) and with 3 being “not sure”. Once the statements are completed the scores are then put into six different categories and then broken down into subcategories. Those categories are Interpersonal Communication, Field-Dependent/Independent, Modalities, The Action Model, Teacher/Student Task Relationships and Leadership/Management Skills for Teachers.

Do you ever wonder why you sometimes do better in some classes and not others? Well, I have the answer to that. "Learning Styles.."! Yes, as individuals we process information differently. Some people may be well balanced out when having to intake new information, but others may need more details or pictures to comprehend the concept that they are trying to learn. The different "learning styles" arrange into four categorizes; Active vs. Reflective learners, Sensing vs. Intuitive learners, Visional vs. Verbal learners and Sequential vs. Global learners.
