Evan Spiegel, CEO of Snapchat Inc. Evan Thomas Spiegel was born on June 4, 1990, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of two wealthy lawyers, but the marriage resulted in a divorce. As a child, he was what one would consider to be spoiled and always insisted on getting what he wanted. Spiegel attended many art schools and institutions during high school including, the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences, the Otis College of Art and Design and the Art Center College of Design. Spiegel also interned in sales at Red Bull and performed experiments that included the use of Photoshop. Following high school, Spiegel was accepted into the product design program at Stanford University. During college, Spiegel met two men, Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown that would help aide him in his future successes. Murphy and Spiegel collaborated to attempt to build an online social network and a software program designed to help with the college process for future freshman in college, but unfortunately both failed. Soon after, Murphy and Spiegel met Brown, and the three formed an alliance. Spiegel and Brown came up with the idea of disappearing pictures, and Murphy soon joined in on this idea, and the three began to create a prototype. …show more content…
