INTRODUCTION This course has had a great impact on my walk with Christ as well as my witness for Christ. I pastor a church and teach two classes and for me I thought that I was doing plenty. However this course has helped rekindle my passion for sharing Jesus Christ with people through personal evangelism. This paper will demonstrate what I have learned throughout this course.
EVANGELISM AS IT RELATES TO CHRISTIAN WALK In Philippians 1:27, Paul writes; “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in

We place great emphases with the horizontal relationship and we try to do our best to keep those relationships in a healthy zone, but our vertical relationship must be kept up with as well. If our vertical relationship is not maintained and kept healthy then it only points to one major problem and that is we are out of fellowship with God. Jesus knew that people could see the difference whether people were sincere or not. That’s why he stressed the importance of a right relationship with God so that when we do good works or witness people will know we are sincere. Wheeler and Whaley write; “Our daily actions toward all people, believers and non-believer should reflect a commitment to life style worship evangelism.” The size of our churches and budgets due not matter in winning souls for Christ. We must understand that if people know that we love God and love them we then can have a great opportunity to share the gospel. The authors write; “worship and witness are best demonstrated in how we react to, reach out to, treat, manage, talk with and pray for people.” Another way evangelism relates to the Christian walk is that we as Christians relate to each other. Wheeler and Whaley remind us that it is important for the members of the church to get along and love one another. I was going on a witnessing tour through our neighborhood and came across a home that was filled
That can be done in numerous ways, but the more people who participate in the process, the more the congregation can own it, and the more unity there will be in its fulfillment . The Lord tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:9 that (paraphrasing) God has basically said that His work and His way can best be accomplished when we become co laborers together with Him. My personal philosophy of ministry builds a church through unity of heart, mind, and spirit between the Pastors, his/her staff, the lay leaders, and laity of the church who all work together to disciple believers, grow in relationship with Christ, worship, and reach the lost to build God’s kingdom. Westing states, “The church is central to God’s redemptive plan. This is the institution that has extended the meaning of Christ’s life into the world today”(Pg.
Throughout the Core 399 curriculum, five questions are used to analyze the main topic that we discussed. This semester, the main topic was that of discipleship. The questions are as follows: What is discipleship? What does Scripture say about discipleship? How should Scriptural principles shape our understanding of discipleship? What does the world say about discipleship? How should a Christian live in the world today with respect to discipleship? Each of these questions are important for engaging discipleship, as will be demonstrated through the analysis of each question, the application of two other mentor groups that focused on one aspect of discipleship, and through the analysis of Gordon Spykman’s quote: “Nothing matters but the

This course has pointed me to a prayer that seems to help me in my everyday activities when it comes to evangelism:
In conclusion, overall, evangelists are like personal structure, multilayered onions. They share their own beliefs and feelings about themselves, others, and the world like Jesus being represent of our model. Having deeper layers are more vulnerable, protected and central to self-image. Even evangelists are human being; we need to protect ourselves by approaching closer to non-believers and voluntary sharing of personal history, preferences, attitudes, feelings, values, secrets etc. with another transparency. The more depth of penetration in specific area then we could be able to know more personal structure on each individual’s life.
In reading, Anthony Robinson and Robert Wall, “Called to be Church,” they claimed in one of the chapters, the word “conversion and community” goes together hand in hand, in a Christian’s life with God (Robinson and Wall, p. 80). However, implications rose among our congregation, in today’s church. Not having the same patterns of the early church, during Acts 2:47. Where many accounts of people being saved was multiplied daily. However, today’s congregations are not reaching no one for Jesus Christ. Why is that, could it be the lack of training for discipleship or evangelist within the church? Or could it just be laziness of the congregation in reaching the lost for God. Christians, today have no sense of urgency for the lost. Could it be, because
The Four Spiritual Laws is an intellectual method of evangelism, which, as it’s title suggests, identifies four spiritual laws that direct an individual’s relationship with God. It was created by Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, in 1952. The four laws, as sited on CampusCrusade.com, are: (1) God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life. (2) Man is sinful and separated from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God’s love and plan for his life. (3) Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for man’s sin. Through Him you can know and experience God’s love and plan for your life. (4) We must individually receive Jesus
This summer I learned that I have unique style that I utilize to communicate the word of God. Even though I was preaching to a completely different and new audience, I noticed that I maintained the same style of preaching I have utilized at the EBC. I also learned that I have a burning desire to communicate God’s word to people. Since, God’s word is helpful and useful for communicating the story of His love for people and the response people should have for God. Mostly, I learned that preaching God’s word is what I love to do and see myself self-doing for the remaining years in my life.
Evangelizing - “Getting into their world” is the base of reaching out anyone. Ford gives some practical tips in the light of Doug Schaupp’s t five-step process of evangelism: (1) Do what they do, (2) Enjoy and accept them, (3) Affirm what is good in their values, (4) Share the story of Jesus in their terms, (5) Invite them to follow Jesus in a way to which they can relate”. Hale explains about the ‘unchurched; who are they and why they stay away, also some approaches to reach them out. “The models of evangelization currently being employed by the churches in their new efforts to wrest the tide of disaffection cannot be evaluated before the results are in. some models, however, have been tested against their stated objectives”.
The principles of discipleship can be found throughout the Bible. One of the ultimate goals of discipleship is to become more Christ like which makes Jesus's life and grace excellent basis for discipleship. God's love, truth, and mercy illustrate how believers are to conduct themselves. Fellowship and guidance attributes of the Holy Spirit, are crucial in discipleship. Paul's life was transformed when he became one of the twelve Disciples. He gave his life over to God's
At the “Great Commission” Seminary, it is impossible to deny the fact that everyone is called to make disciples as they are going into the world. Every month, if not every week, I am reminded that I am called to go and make disciples of the people that have never heard the name of Jesus. Currently, I reached out to a woman in a Jewish Synagogue and had a gospel conversation, and I plan to go back to minister to her and to those around her by the end of the month. I work at a paint store, and I try to direct my words to talk about the gospel through at my work in a way that is natural to my job. I do not inorganically foce the conversation in this direction, but instead gently show these men and women what I do and why I am here. This has led to an hour-long conversation with one customer about the gospel, and I even had the privilege to invite a customer to church for Easter. Understanding my surroundings and engaging people with a gospel is interesting is an easy and fun way for me to incorporate the gospel
Think back to the person who taught you the gospel. Imagine what your life would be like if someone didn’t care? What about the person that taught that person the gospel? The person who baptized me lived a life that can be summarized by sincerity, love and passion for Jesus the preaching of Jesus and living like Jesus go hand in hand. Paul himself wrote of this in Philippians 1:21. Think of the lives that you can help change by choosing to live for Jesus. Unfortunately, there are times that we allow the fear of what friends think or say, apathy, etc. to interfere with our example to not just the lost but also believers of the church (1 Timothy 4:12). How can we expect to reach lost souls if we don’t take a stand for our belief, convictions, and don’t choose to live a life of love, honesty, sacrifice, etc? Do we say one thing but completely practice another? If there is one thing that many Christian’s are good at and really know how to do, it’s blending in. We fade into the crowd and try not to look or act different from anyone else. However, it’s when we choose to live contrary to the world that we really make impacts in peoples lives. People would much rather see a sermon and than hear one preached. We must strive to be the type of people that when others want to know what Christ was like they don’t have to look any further than
Relational. The ministry of Jesus was focused on people and meeting their needs. Spending time with others, both individually and through corporate gatherings, is modeled throughout the Bible. Fellowship with other believers in small groups allows individuals to forge relationships and develop accountability at some level. These deeper bonds demonstrate to others their love for God and others by loving God’s Law, obeying it by God’s grace, and allowing it to lead to Jesus Christ for transformation into His image.
Instead of trying to make sure I know the right words to say or do, I just have to talk about Jesus and how awesome, confusing, kind, and the list could go on and on. I liked what the author said about instead of evangelism, discipleship. The author says “evangelism leaves hurt people hurt, sinful people sinful, and religious people religious. Discipleship is a journey that requires change, whereas evangelism is just information” (Medearis 126).
It is the most effective way of winning souls. This method should be used on people, whom one interact with the most, people who know someone and see them on a regular basis. Lifestyle evangelism creates a nurturing environment to extend an invitation to Christ. This means an unbeliever will feel a sense of belonging before becoming a believer. Research has shown that a non-believer would be likely to give a believer the opportunity to share their faith, when the believer 's life has proven that their words are sincere, and life altering. In this way, the non-believer would feel a sense of worth before they expose themselves to the Inspired Word.
