After having read the first 150 pages I must say that the book Everyday written by David Levithan has contents, and ideas quite different from what we are used to read nowadays. This book Is read easily and surprisingly mixt the love story between A and Rhiannon, and the intriguing plot of a boy waking up everyday in a different body. By mixing romance and science fiction, David Levithan has created a book that appeals to any categories of age and sex .
Thinking more deeply, I found the idea of the book exciting but also scary, as waking up in a different body everyday makes A experience what everyone Is going through during their day, from poor or rich, he has the power to see from their point of view and comprehend what life is like
This book is a very good book. It is not one of my favorite books, but it is in, or somewhat close to, the top ten list. It has an intriguing story and has some humor in it to make sure that it isn’t all mellow.
I found it extraordinary with every decision or turning point a character faced in their lives. What I have assimilated from this book is you cannot let where you come from determine your path, it is only you who can determine your future. This is also why the author Wes was one of my favorite characters in this narrative. His story is one out of a multitude that shows anyone can have a bright future. But I did not discern any similarities with the characters and myself. We all were born into different situations and grew up around opposite influences. Overall, my impression of the novel is positive I believe it is an outstanding book and anyone else who reads it I would hope agrees. I would definitely recommend this book to people because it may help them appreciate
2. Why does the narrator talk about himself in the Because he considers the body he’s in
As a reader my reaction to the author was really inspiring because even thought he had a hard childhood, he kept his head up and kept doing what he had to do to successes and make his mother happy. Also the way
Furthermore, I also like how he added the theme and message about how a child needs a good role model or someone to look up to for good advice and decisions. For example, the other Wes Moore looks up to Tony but copies him towards stealing and killing. I like how the book states that if you have someone you can look up to, you will create a better life and a better future for yourself. However, I think the transition from first person point of view and third person point of view threw me off a little. Sometimes when I finish reading the book in the morning and continue reading later in the day, I pick up the book and start reading again. I usually get confused on which Wes Moore the author is talking about. I always have to read one or two pages previously to see whom they are talking about like he or I. To conclude with, I enjoyed reading this book and I think this book could help kids follow a right role model to have a better
Another reason why the book is so worthwhile to read is that it captures another aspect of the human story:
This book was a very good read. It was very eye opening. More than what I expected. It was a very well written book about the hidden lives of young
There were a few points in this book that taught me about life and how crazy it can be sometimes. The photographer named Fulgencio was very afraid of hitch hiking to Mexico City with a stranger, especially with all of us expensive equipment. On the ride, Fulgencio is so paranoid that the guy is going to kill him, he grabs a machete out of the back of the truck. In doing so he gets kicked out of the car and loses all of his photography equipment anyways. This taught me that we need to trust each other more, Just because there are a few crazy people in the world, we shouldn't let them give us all a bad name. I mean, the guy picked Fulgencio up when he was in desperate need of a car, and gives him a ride. He should have been thankful, not picked up a machete and threaten the guy. Another thing this book taught me was that just because your sister doesn't want your kid anymore because she
Besides the author’s writing style, the plot of this book was very interesting and sad. Jamal’s older brother was in jail due to murder and his mother is a single parent that has to work nearly 24 hours a day to support Jamal and his
Another thing that I liked about the book is that at the beginning, the wake/vigil/funeral was so accurately described. Funerals are awkward, tiring, and numbing. Meursault
I will recommend this book to everyone because it has elements that I feel most books do not have. It was enjoyable to read because I have had many problems with my father and this book helped me come to a revelation. This book kept me going and all I wanted to do was curl up underneath my covers and read this book. It was such an inspirational tool that will never leave my heart and I will always cherish how it made me feel. I am really excited to read his other book Into the Air. If it is anything like this book, I will love
My favorite part of the book was the warning signs to know when a stranger is a potential threat. This was fascinating to me because I’ve been told since I was just a little boy to beware of strangers. But with all these warnings about strangers I had never been told how to recognize when a
The first feeling of this story is that the boy and his father struggle with their relationship, but as it unfolds, the reader sees how they do care for each other. It also becomes easier to spot the difficulties of communicating within a broken family. The father does a fine job to of turning the boy’s scheduling obsessions into a positive for the boy by noting it as one of his strong points.
One of the things that really stood out to me was near the end of the book, where Dr. Wilson spoke about struggles and distress. He mentioned that God will comfort us amidst our distress. What makes this so great is
Every Day is a heart wrenching tale by David Levithan about someone called A. They have an extremely hard time living their life because every morning they wake up in a different body. Whether it is male or female, light or dark skinned, gay or straight, when A wakes up every morning they are in someone else's body. Though luckily as A gets older he spends the day in the body of someone his same age. To keep this summary from getting too confusing A will be referred to as a “he” throughout this Review. Though A retains memories of his life in past bodies he is also able to access the past memories of the body he is currently inhabiting, allowing him to live a day in the life of that person without arousing too much suspicion. A has made peace
