Hi All!
I hope everyone is looking forward to a great soccer season! By now, I believe everyone has had the chance to speak with my husband, Coach Ben, who is super excited to get this soccer season underway! :)
With that being said, we are looking forward to the first team get-together this Thursday, August 17th, 6pm at Diamond Hill Field. We understand it is very short notice, but with Opening Day scheduled for August 26th it does not give too many opportunities to get the team together before that first game and we believe this will be a great opportunity for the team to get to meet/know each other, and for the parents to do the same! We believe that the more the team gets to know each other, the better they will play together :) We
Coach Phil Jackson once said, “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” Sky View High School Senior, Jaden Wood, is the embodiment of this.
Hello my name is Madelyn Johnson, I attend Bartels Middle School and am a 11 years old. I have played ball ever since I was little and fell in love with it instantly. I would watch the Brewers all the time and they give me motivation. I really appreciate how many of the activities are involved around children. I wish I could go to more games in the summer.
Not much is known about the origin of soccer. However, the Greeks and Romans played football and ball kicking games. The London Football Association developed the first sets of rules in 1863. British sailors and settlers brought the game to India, South America and Europe.
Just a reminder that our first practice is tomorrow at Rice School field from 5:30-6:30PM. The league requested that I ask all parents for clarification about kids' interests. It would be best to know which players would like to pitch and play catcher. I certainly do not want to have a child pitch or catch if he/she is not comfortable. Please let me know if your child has an interest in either position. If your child wants to catch, please ensure that he/she attends practice with a protective cup. Remember that Saturday is our parade day. Each child should be dropped at the "Industrial Park" at Honey Farms by 8:15 (at the latest). The entire parade begins moving by 8:30. I will be there by 8:00 to ensure our kids are chaperoned. Tomorrow
“I don’t want normal people to mock me”. These were the most offensive words I have ever heard. They were pronounced by one of my teammates during the allied soccer championship. Due to his suspension from the team for his disrespectful manners and temper tantrums he had missed many practices and thought he wasn’t prepared enough to play.
The Houston Dynamo, founded in 2005 in Houston, is an American professional soccer club that has gained popularity within the past few years through an increased interest in soccer on a national level. The explanation of the team’s name derives from the meaning of the word Dynamo- “someone who never fatigues, never gives up.” In 2006 and 2007 the Houston Dynamo were the MLS Cup winners. Five years later during their 2011 season, the Houston Dynamo moved from the Eastern Conference to the Western Conference. They ended their season standing at second place in the Eastern Conference. Recently the Dynamo have tried to make a comeback from their outstanding two years back in 2006. As of 2013 the Houston Dynamo
In this essay, the stories, “Zoo,” and “He-y, Come on Ou-t,” are compared by the unexpected twist and setting details. In a brief summary, the story “Zoo,” introduces us to Professor Hugo’s Interplanetary Zoo where creatures from many different planets are showcased around the world. On the other hand, “He-y, Come on Ou-t,” presents us with a mysterious hole founded after a disaterous event. Eventhough both stories may seem entirely different on the surface, if you look at them at a different perspective they will come out to be quite similar.
Bipolar disorder is a highly intermittent illness often beginning in the critical life period of late adolescence and early adulthood. Bipolar disorder can have a major impact on the social, educational and occupational development of individuals. Psychotherapy has been found to treat people with a mental disorder by helping them understand their illness. It teaches people strategies and gives them tools to deal with stress, unhealthy thoughts, and unhealthy behaviors. Psychotherapy helps patients manage their symptoms better and function at their best in everyday life. Sometimes psychotherapy alone may be the best treatment for a person, depending on the illness and its severity. Other times, psychotherapy may need to be combined with medications to get the best outcome or treatment. Therapists will work diligently with individuals and families to devise an appropriate treatment plan. Not always, will it be easy to fine the appropriate treatment or balanced treatment for the patient and family on the first therapy visit. That being said, it can sometimes prolong a recovery or make the patient and family noncompliant. By far, the researchers and healthcare professionals know that the best and most effective treatment for bipolar disorder is early diagnosis and early intervention. So, it takes everyone to work as a team including the patient and family to be successful towards the road to recovery.
I been playing soccer since I was five years old and I never been in a fight while playing or seeing one. That changed when I moved to Fargo. I was born in Kenya and raised there. My family and I moved to the United State in 2008. We lived in Memphis, TN for a couple of months and we moved to Portland, Maine. I have passionate for the sport of soccer. I play other sports such as basketball and football, but I enjoy playing soccer the most. I played soccer my four years of High School and it was great even though my team didn’t win state championship for the four years that I played, but we were once close and we let it slip out. High school soccer give me different perspective of the game that I didn’t know. I remember when I was young all we did was run around and kick the ball, mostly try to score a goal before the opponent. That is not how football is played generally, it’s a teamwork game, without knowing your position and where u good at then there is no chemistry between you and your teammates. My freshman year I was told to forget what I know and learn new system. It took me two years to learn the system after I learned the game I started with playing with the varsity team which is more complicated because it’s the hardest level in high school. After high I went on to college and i tried to play college soccer but I couldn’t because of my school and work schedule. After finishing my first semester of college my family and I decided to move to Fargo, ND.
Unlike all other game days, this one is very special. We take on UC San Diego in hopes of securing a playoff spot. My emotions have been running all over the place, and no it’s not because I am a young adult trying to get through college. I have been playing soccer for 15 years already so it is safe to say that soccer is my life. All I do is constantly train to get better and improve as much as I can and today is my chance to showcase my talent at the highest level I’ve played at so far. It’s my second year at SFSU and my second year playing soccer here and with 20 games already recorded for me at the school, I should be coming into the game with a cool head but I am far from it.
Soccer is a popular sport played all over the world. Even though it has only been popular in the United States for the past 30 years, soccer has been a long time favorite most everywhere else. The sport dates back to the Egyptians, who played games involving the kicking of a ball. Now, the sport has grown to a global pastime, including men’s and women’s teams, and the World Cup (which is played every four years).
Everyone has accomplishments, People experience them young, old and all inbetween. A main accomplishment in my life has been starting for the varsity lacrosse team here at Clackamas High School. Along with starting on my high school team, as a sophomore, I also was invited to play on some of the best club teams in Oregon. During these experiences I have grown as a person, began working harder, and learned you can’t always control everything. With determination you can do anything you set your mind to.
People have always loved to play games. The human race has created hundreds of thousands of games to entertain themselves and to compete with one another. The most beloved games are those of physical sports. One of these sports, that has become a worldwide phenomenon, is the game soccer. The entire world gathers every four years to send out their best team, and to see which country is the ultimate champion. To play the game of soccer, there needs to be referees to ensure that the players are safe and are following the rules. Though this was once a highly respected position, in Virginia, working as a referee is no longer worth the time, due to a lack of respect, no support system, and the constant variations and changes to the rules.
Soccer is one of the most important sport in Europe and America. About 270 million people play soccer around the world. Soccer was first played and created in England in December 1863.
Growing up, everyone has been taught that "Drugs are bad." As kids, we nodded and promised not to be influenced by drugs; however, many people in society today are drug users or addicts.
