Based on the principles of path–goal theory, describe why Art and Bob appear to be less effective than Carol?
Path goal theory is based on how leader behavior affects on subordinate satisfaction, motivation and performance (Alanazi, Alharthey & Rasli, 2013). Carol seems to have chosen the style that best fits the needs of her subordinates and the work they are doing. Subordinates described her as part parent, part coach, part manufacturing expert and wonderful knack for making everything fall into place. Carol seemed to display the balance her workers needed. This kind of leadership is most effective when people are unsure what tasks they have to do or when there is a lot of uncertainty within their working environment.
