Cosmological proof of gods existence looks at the functionality of our universe, it looks at the order and causation of the universe. something needs to begin everything, something that moves things and can not move things, and that thing was god. in our universe nothing is the cause of itself. we need an uncaused cause. what caused the universe and life? there must be a cause to that because we can not have an infinite number of causes. God is the beginning of it all. all that existence could not have been which means there was a time that everything we perceive and feel now did not once exist, meaning there was a time where nothing existence. all things rely on something to exist, however that makes us agree that there must be a being with permanent existence, a being that has not been brought to existence but has always been there, that being is god. everything that is created has a reason to be there. Because the universe had a start it has a cause. the universe must have had a start and a beginning otherwise we would have been stuck in an infinite time before anything could happen. Examples for this argument could include having a ball, if no one acted upon moving it it will always be in its same position forever ( theoretically ).

societies usually desire the perfect reflection of them .As time passes and life changes so do religions ,however the bases of the religion remain. Each religion has different dominations, each to fit certain societies . some of the reasons why one may be religious could include social and psychological aspects. Religion could help cope with stress, give hope and peace of mind .It could give a sense of community , along with a support group , It also gives a worldview , purpose , and a system of ethics . Because religion fulfills human needs it has not extinct
The Strengths and Weaknesses of the Cosmological Argument for the Existence of God The cosmological argument seeks to prove the existence of God by looking at the universe. It is an A posteriori proof based on experience and the observation of the world not logic so the outcome is probable or possible not definite. The argument is in three forms; motion, causation and being. These are also the first three ways in the five ways presented by Aquinas through which he believed the existence of God could be shown.
The Cosmological Argument attempts to prove that God exists by showing that there cannot be an infinite number of regressions of causes to things that exist. It states that there must be a final uncaused-cause of all things. This uncaused-cause is asserted to be God. Arguments like this are thought up to recognize why we and the universe exist.
The existence of God as puzzled minds for many years. Philosophers have argued that god may or may not exist to the human mind or that there can be more than one type of god. Our ways of thinking have gradually expanded over the years and it has allowed us to make more complex ideas on lost history but there is still some questionable knowledge on whether there is a god or not. We as humans could be missing valid information to find the correct answer. Cosmological argument refers to existence of a unique being, generally identified with or referred to as God, is deduced or inferred as highly probable from facts concerning causation, change, ect in the respect of the universe as a whole within in. My question lies, what put that there? It
A logical argument for God’s existence or nonexistence is the cosmological argument. William Craig says in his book that there are three statements that give the cosmological argument form. Craig concluded that whatever begins to exist has a cause. The Universe began to exist therefore the Universe had a cause. What that cause was, is widely challenged. The argument against the existence of God includes the Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang Model is a broadly accepted theory for the beginning and evolution of our universe. According to NASA, it claims that twelve to fourteen billion years ago, the part of the universe that can be seen today was only a few millimeters across. It has since expanded from this hot dense state into the vast and much cooler cosmos that is inhabited. Remnants of this hot dense matter as the now very cold cosmic microwave background radiation can be seen which still pervades the universe and is visible to microwave detectors as a uniform glow across the entire sky. Those who say that God does not exist use this as their argument to explain how the universe was created. Those who support this theory say that the universe resulted from a big bang and everything that is in existence came from this phenomenon. In talking about the Big Bang Theory, Jeffrey Keen said, “In general, science accepts that both the structure of the universe and the laws of physics were created simultaneously at the beginning of the Big Bang, and have since remained constant
The origin of religion is built from its needed function at the time. Humans continually have this need to have a purpose and to explain the unexplainable. Religion allows people to give a sense of guidelines and purpose to their lives. This is not to discredit the spiritual aspect of practicing religions, but to recognize that religion in any of its forms is essentially created by man, meaning that its origins are whatever that culture may need at the time. While the spiritual aspect may be present at the time, religion is what people use to explain that spirituality and put it to
It is common knowledge that in the past religion and myths were just ways for societies to explain events and occurrences that citizens of ancient societies did not have enough advanced knowledge to understand. It was also used as a way to oppress others, as seen in the explanation of class order and royalty as God placing a person where they were meant to be and that there was nothing one could do about it, because who can go against God himself? Religion played an even bigger part than that though, being a large part of every person’s identity and something for a country and its people to unit over. But as society slowly aged, and governments were reorganized and re-structured, one can see a reduction in religion being a part of
God is defined as the creator of the universe. The mystery of God’s existence has been an important study for both philosophers and prominent religious figures throughout history. Man has been struggling to answer the question, how did we get here? What or who was responsible for the creation of life and the cosmos? Who is God? Does God exist and if so where? Questions that many people ask today. Because of such questions many do not believe in God.
Religion is universal, but interpretations of the meaning of religions vary. There are several philosophers who interpreted religion in different manners, three of them being Tylor, Frazer, and Marx. Even though their ideals were different, they all three still held a general functionalist view on religion—that religion served the purpose to comfort or control humans. On the contrary to the functionalist opinions of Tylor, Frazer, and Marx, my personal belief coincides mostly with that of Rudolf Otto. I interpret religion as a great, unexplainable mystery (that may or may not have to do with human function), and not solely the result of one’s fears, one’s intellect, or one’s oppression.
Religion has been around for a long time. There are many reasons a person will follow a certain religion. It provides us comfort in times of tragedy or desperation, relief from a guilty conscience, and a sense of acceptance. The biggest reason, though, is fear.
There are numerous implications of religion in human society. Perhaps, the main positive ones are its ability to stimulate a perception of meaning in life, sympathy, mercifulness and love of others. Among the disapproving implications are included opinionated, ferocious behaviors contrary to other people of different religions, and the mishandling of power and supremacy. Future results for religious people can create communities of people who support one another. I would say that one recognized pro of a religion is the idea of certainty in something superior to oneself. In a realm where there is so many who display so much of ego and self-praise, religion allows individuals to conquer their own idea of self towards a better end. This is a good factor in terms of being capable of seeing oneself as part of something greater and not the demise in its own right. Along these stances, the concept of being able to do fair to others in the name of something more can only benefit to make society and the people within it excel.
Many people on this planet identify as being religious, whether it be Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, or another. Many people look for answers to the questions of life. Where did we come from? What happens when we die? What is our purpose? Religion not only answers these questions, but they also shape the way we live as individuals. Religion at the individual level answers the questions above, but religion has three functions in society today, it brings people together, helps with people’s morals and norms, and provides an answer to what our purpose is on this planet. Religion is very extraordinary in this case, because religion is practiced in many different ways, but have nearly the same answers and the same affect on a person. Religion is the most important aspects of human existence.
This argument is basically a cause and effect argument. It goes like this: the world could not have just existed by itself so there must have been something that brought the world into existence. The first cause is God.
Religion gives people hope. Sounds like a very stupid reason, but many people feel lost and scared in such a big world. Having a seemingly organised and "logical" way of explaining it for them can comfort people. Without religion we would have no charity, no missionary work and no morals to base our lives upon. All that would be left would be a world corrupted by selfishness, hate and anarchy and every person who denies religion brings us a step closer to that dark world.
Religion exists because it offers a tool for social organization. Human beings have an innate need to relate with others. Religion offers a perfect opportunity for people to come together and relate on a
Religion is a cultural system of designated behaviors and beliefs related to humanity and the supernatural. It provides the missing pieces to connect human kind with a comprehensive world view. Religion influences the way one thinks, feels, and acts. There are many reasons why one may be or become religious, and those reasons may be different for everyone. Religion has long brought us together, but it has also separated us, even to the point of war. Religion is a powerful influence amongst people, which affects every aspect of one’s life.
