Usually when people read books they don’t always look back and see what the author was trying to show. You will see my idea of what I think the author of the book is trying display. I think the message the author is trying to portray is that just because you get knocked down, feel down, or that your down doesn't mean that you have to stay that way forever.
Thank you the M-1 Marvels for allowing me to be apart of the huddle this week!
I believe that at the end of chapter 1 in the book we are meant to feel that Cole is a very mean person. Also that he thinks he is better than everyone and he is superior, the evidence to show this is on page 4 when it states “Still standing on the dock in front of everyone, Cole smirked as he undressed.” This piece of evidence shows that cole thinks he is better than the people because he is smirking as he undresses in front of them. Another piece of evidence to show that cole thinks he is better than everyone is on page 5 and it says “Nothing could be farther from the truth. To cole this was another big game.” This clearly is showing that cole thinks he is better than everyone he takes everything as a game he doesn’t really realize what is
If you read the diary of a high school girl, what could you learn about her? The name of her best friend, what kind of a person she is, and maybe even signs of troubles deeper than the bad grade she got on her last chemistry exam would pop out at you. She probably would not explicitly state these things, either—they would become apparent simply by looking at how often her best friend’s name appeared within the pages, how she interacted with the people around her, and how she described her thoughts and feelings. Seeing things directly from her perspective would give you a unique look at who she was as a person, what her relationships with other people were like, and what her take on events was, all without ever being told what they were like
Day by day Toby and Elizabeth went through doing their assigned jobs, eating meals, and going to bed according to schedule every single day for the past year. At first, it wasn’t that hard for them to do because, everyone else was just doing their jobs and continuing the schedule so, all they had to do was keep quiet and obey what they were told. Unfortunately after a while, it became very difficult for them to act like robots never having emotions being expressed it was almost like they were stuck inside their minds day after day keeping everything to themselves as if they weren't humans at all.
41. “Our dilemma is that we see happiness only in the future” 42. “Harmony and happiness are powerful weapons against the war” 43. “Happiness is the feeling of being alive” 44. “Every new day is achance to discover a happier you” 45. “All seasons are favorite for the person who holds happiness within” 47. “The greatest happiness is to
John boarded the dark blue freighter with Conner his best friend. John sat down in his and Connor's bunk bed in the freighters quarters. Conner said “ you should always check your back and don’t trust everything you hear”. Conner had short brown hair and his skin was dark while John was medium height with golden long hair but everyone on the boat wore the same army gear, green bulletproof vests and helmet. The only thing that they shared in common other than their uniforms was both of their voices were deep and masculine. As the hours passed John started to recount the years of that horrible war. It started in the year of 1939 when the nazi’s
I exhale a long, frustrated sigh as I look around the old, battered up, brown and decaying café. It was amidst the start of the French Revolution, and circumstances were heating up. Everyone were in a small groups chattering away at nothing in particular as I stand at the slightly raised platform, waiting for the last few representatives to come. I, Pascal Beaumont, was the organizer of the raid that will be held at the Bastille, in Paris, on July 14, 1789. Tomorrow was July 14, 1789, the big day. Such an evil thing to do, some might think, but not in my situation. I was thirsty for revenge, for the blood that belonged to the royalty, for death. That rascal, King Louis XVI would pay for the lives he took from the peasants. They would never
I choose prompt 6. The three chapters of this book are arguably the climax of this book because Alfie went to the hospital and learned that this hospital is used for people with shell shock. The next day, Alfie was shining the shoes of the prime minister and, while not being seen overheard his conversation between him and his mother. He heard that his mom knows that his dad is in the hospital and would not tell him. After knowing this Alfie decided to bring his dad back home. Before doing this he had to let someone know about his plan, so he told his dad's old friend Joe. Joe is a conscious objector who went to jail got beaten up and still refused to fight in the war. He did this because his old man was a violent one and Joe swore to never
Finally. Years of ceaseless efforts. Countless trials and complications. The completion of the cure for humanity. Out of fear of revolt and turmoil, the necessity for a drug that could subdue the subliminal and divert attention to servitude was created. Although the tests on genetically similar animals had been proven positive, it was instrumental to be tested on humans. The apprehension in the lab was omniscient. The next few moments would define the inconceivable effort invested in the project. Would it work? Would we finally overcome the insurmountable odds? I breathed in anticipation. “Bring in the test subject!” I hollered.
The hot sun beamed off Remi's body as sweat ran down her skin like rain drops. Today was the official beginning of fall and the sun has yet to show mercy on any soul living. And to make matters even worse the A/C unit was out of order which meant every one in Lakeview Apartment would have to suffer from the unbaring heat.
I didn't think anyone would like that last chapter, but I guess I was proved wrong. I'll continue to write more strange plots, every so often. A big 'Thank You' to all of my followers, favoriters, and reviewers;) This chapter was very fun and entertaining to write. Enjoy!
Chapter 1 A young woman appears out of nowhere and quickly catches up to another who's dashing along a moonlit lane. "Are we late?" She asks as she falls into step besides the older woman. "No not yet, but we need to hurry, we don't have much time." "Follow me," the older woman replies, and her dark cloak billows about casting shadows on the high stone walls that border the lane. They walked side by side in silence for a long ways and then through a set of huge iron gates swung opened before them and onto a narrow driveway. A manor house grew out of the darkness at the end of the straight drive, lights glinting in the windows. Gravel crackled beneath their feet as speeding toward the front door, which swung inward at their approach, though
In high school, I struggled with both math and physics. Between the two, physics was more challenging for me than math. When my father realized I was failing both subjects (with flying colors) he immediately hired a tutor for me. Prior to getting help, I spent a lot of time in circles trying to figure out one question after another. For some reason I could not get the hang of physics. I started to feel embarrassed about not know how to solve my math and physics problems when I realized that one of my closest girlfriend was doing well in both subjects. After taking a quiz, I would hide my grade from my classmates because I was so embarrassed about it. When my father received my first quarter report card he was very disappointed
People already know that rats are very disgusting creatures that live in sewers and eat trash. But these four articles introduced new insights to the problems that rats cause. Some of them include causing destructive infestations, horrible diseases that can harm or kill people and pets, and the danger of using pesticides to humans. The first reason and paragraph discusses what rat infestations are and why they occur, the second paragraph talks about the dangers to human society, and the third paragraph discusses the ways people are trying to rid their lives of rats.
