The ending of Chopin's "The Locket" was a rollercoaster of suspense for the reader. This is because of the well rounded way that Chopin constructed the story had the reader believe in one thing, while portraying another through the use of foreshadowing in the story. It was underestimated that when it was brought to Octavie's attention that a soldier had been killed with the locket on him, that it could have been stolen from Edmond. While reading this the audience automatically assumes that it is Edmond. This is a great example of allusion being incorporated in the story. In addition to that an example of foreshadowing is when Octavie and Judge Pillier are taking their morning stroll in the coach and the letter is being read by Octavie which

In Night, Elie Wiesel uses foreshadowing, flashforwards, and repetition to explain the terror in the concentration camps back in World War Two and before. He does a really good job of displaying these literary devices to help the reader better understand the theme of terror in this book. The prisoners of these camps were scared and Wiesel was one of these prisoners. This makes the book more accurate. It also is really interesting to see what life was like for these prisoners coming from one of them that was a part of it. It’s really great that someone would write a book about this so that we can understand more about such a horrific event like the Holocaust.
In the poem, Song of Becoming by Fadwa Tuqan the speaker portrays the main characters, the boys, as being exposed to violence at as they grew older. The speaker starts the poem by stating the boys to be very playful and joyous. The speaker says “Launching rainbow kites”. This example of foreshadowing is a hint at what will be coming later in the poem. The word launching has a very negative connotation in the way that launching is generally associated with violent things such as military launchers, or launching grenades. The word launching foreshadows that the boys will have a very violent future as the poem continues. Near the middle of the poem the speaker introduces that the quote, “Now their voices are ones that reject”. The word
In the short story, “The Veldt” the parents died in the hands of their children’s imagination. The story in not just full of irony, it is full of hints and meanings. In the short story the parents were concerned because of “Africa” in the nursery. The parents later asked David McClean who is a psychologist to look at the nursery, David McClean was also concerned and suggested them to close down the nursery and send the children to him everyday for the next year. George allowed the children to play in the nursery for one last time before closing it down, but that decision caused both George and Lydia’s death.

In Hamlet there is a lot of foreshadowing for example when the ghost first approaches Hamlet to inform him of his murder father this creates rage in Hamlet.Another example was when Hamlet would act mad or insane but he was really .Or was he? While reading the book one might get mixed emotions about Hamlet's madness. For example some say Hamlet is not insane he is just using this as a mask to get revenge for his father's death. Although Hamlet would say things that made him seem mad even when he was not acting like he was mad. Hamlet is mad in my opinion because he says he doesn't love ophelia but yet he uses sexual comments towards her like she is an object of pleaser.Another example of foreshadowing is ploneuce and leratise being used as
