Robert Shea once stated, “ The key element in tragedy is the heros and heroins are destroyed by that which appears to be their greatest strength.” In the tragic story Antigone by Sophocles, the main character Creon represents the hero that Robert Shea described. During the play, Creon sentences his future sister-in-law to a life of solitude because she wants to bury her brother. His actions prove him to be the tragic hero because of his hubris, his inability to listen, and his pride that keeps him from ever thinking he is wrong.
