Purpose statement: The purpose of my speech is to teach my speech class about the history of September 11th, 2001.
I. Intro: Over a decade has passed since the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. Some of us may remember what we have learned about these attacks, although our memories of these events may not be as accurate as we thought. These attacks resulted in extensive deaths and destruction. According to the online history channel “On September 11th, 2001 the Islamic extremist group al-Qaeda hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against 4 U.S. targets. Both towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania.

TRANS: In the article 102 minutes to live as the tower died it was said that the events of the north tower caused serious concerns for the south tower.
C. Within 7 minutes the elevators of the south tower were working fine and the building went smoothly until the PDA.
1. According to a fact sheet written by the U.S. Department of State it was recorded that at 9:04 a.m. A United airlines flight crashed into the south tower.
2. 64 passengers
3. Plane that crashed into the south tower was flying much faster.
4. Begin to fall 2.5 seconds after impact.
5. Hundreds of people were trapped inside the south tower.
6. The twisting and the bending of the south tower is what caused most of the damage.
7. An hour after the south tower was hit it collapsed.
8. An hour and a half after the north tower was hit it also collapsed.
TRANS: The attacks of the towers left New York devastated and trailed into the tracks of Washington D.C.
D. The Pentagon was now hit.
1. On the Pentagon educational website it was written that an American airline flight crashed into the Pentagon.

In this article, one of the main issues is that the tower’s structural engineer, Lee Robertson, addressed the problem of terrorism in the plans for the building, claiming he “designed it for a (Boeing) 707 to hit it”. In the center of the tower there is a central support core. This core is built of sheer concrete reinforced by 44 beams of construction grade steel, which were sealed in asbestos. When the plane hit the north tower it took a direct hit to the core, but the plane that hit the south tower went in on an angle, almost parallel to the core structure. The fuel barley grazes the core of the south tower, with most
The next chapter "It 's going to be the stop story of the day", was merely from the prospective of everyone in the South Tower. One by one people were trying to evacuate both buildings. Luckily the South tower had some extra time to spare since it was hit second. This chapter also features text messages from people in the South building who are confused with unclear understandings of what was happening. Some people refused to evacuate until they knew exactly what was going on, others rushed to get out of the building as fast as possible.
Two planes, American Airways flight 11 and United Airways flight 175 flew directly into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, both buildings were over one-hundred stories tall. The first plane crashed into the north tower at a speed of 440 mph, carrying 81 passengers. The fuel tanks were carrying over 9,500 gallons of jet fuel. The second plane hit the south tower flying 540 mph at 9:03 am, mere minutes after the first. It was much lighter considering it only carried 56 passengers and approximately 9100 gallons of jet fuel. The combined explosion caused both towers to burst into flames around the seventieth floor. Under two hours, both the north and south towers collapsed,
On September 11, 2001 four passenger commercial jet airliners were hijacked and as a result approximately 3,000 human lives were lost. When asked about 9/11, many can recall exactly what they were doing when they heard the news that a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings and many Americans can tell you how it all unfolded and the reason behind such a travesty. The “official story” provided by officials, and restated by Sofia Shafquat, producer of “9/11 Mysteries: Demolitions” say that “four passenger planes were hijacked and taken radically off course, within an hour, two of the planes had flown into the enormous steel towers of the World Trade Center, creating fires and eventually toppling them” (Shafquat).
It was a clear Tuesday morning; September 11, 2001, nineteen Islamic terrorists from Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations boarded four fully fueled American airliners. These airliners were set to depart to cities in California. Little did the staff for each of the planes or the people boarding them know that plans had changed. Within the space of an hour, al Qaeda
The two buildings were crushed by planes, but they did not crumble immediately. The south tower was the first to fall, after that at 10:30 a.m the north tower fell. The south tower was stricken closely to the 60 level. In the north tower the terrorists hit close to the 80 level and made many people above them not able to get down to the streets and get to safety. Officers and other workers were still picking up things that fell from the building and the people that passed away almost a year after the twin towers fell. Right now they have only three World Trade centers because of the twin towers were hit in 9-11. New York is working on building two
“I still couldn’t believe what happened that day!” Michael exclaimed with his croaked voice. “I literally thought the world was ending right in front of me, my wife, and my baby as the Twin Towers were reduced to rubble.” Sometimes it was surprising to see how an hour could turn the financial capital of the world into a state of chaos and anarchy. I was near the area reporting about a local family living under poverty when tragedy struck back in 2001, and now I am presenting to you a story of a survivor of this horrific incident.
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Ann-Marie Cameron I am a Doctoral Learner in the Public Safety and Criminal Justice Leadership Program at Capella University. This presentation will analyze the World Trade Center (WTC) bombing, and what was in place post 9/11. Let us begin
Terrorist attacks have increased over the last twenty years, but one of the most remembered is the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. It happened on September 11, 2001; and is commonly referred to as 9/11. Americans grow up learning details about 9/11; but rarely do we learn about a personal experience. In Adam Mayblum’s email “The Price We Pay,” he tells the story of what happened to him, and others around him on the day of September 11, 2001. Mayblum explains in paragraph ten “If you want to kill us, leave us alone because we will do it by ourselves. If you want to make us stronger, attack and we unite.” He made an excellent point with that statement, because he is right. He provides us with imagery, thoughts on terrorism, and strong use of emotions throughout the story that brings us a very well written narrative.
It was a normal day in New York City, with business workers rushing into the World Trade Center. They thought it was going to be like any other day in the office but they were wrong. These office workers were in for the biggest surprise of their life. Planes flown by hijackers crashed into both the Twin Towers, and the Pentagon was hit by a plane as well. Now there is a memorial in New York where the bases of the towers were honoring the people who died that day.
On the morning of September 11, 2001, an Islamic terrorist group known as al-Qaeda carried out a series of four attacks on the United States. The most well-known attack is when two commercial airline planes crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City. Many innocent lives were lost and families were torn apart. While many Americans were determined to show their resilience towards the attacks, this is a day many Americans will never forget. Although the attacks happened sixteen years ago, Americans are still dealing with the impacts these attacks have had on life in America. The 9/11 attacks have had several long-lasting effects on everyday life in America, some of which include an increase in airport security, a change in national security, and an increase the fear of terrorism.
On the day, September 11, 2001, those members of the Al Qaeda, known as what we call terrorists took over multiple U.S. planes. There were two of those planes that collided into the tall buildings known as the Twin Towers in New York, causing them to crumble. This incident claimed many lives in the process. Another plane being the third, was one to strike the Pentagon. There were many damages caused from this along with casualties. While there was another plane on its way for a planned attack, it was stopped abruptly by crashing into a field in Pennsylvania.
September 11, 2001, millions of New Yorkers and American citizens woke up and started their day, unprepared and unaware for the catastrophic attack that would be taking place in just a few short hours. At 8:46 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. The impact killed all of the passengers and crew as well as hundreds inside the building. At 9:03 a.m., a second plane, Flight 175, crashed into the corner of the South Tower killing passenger, crew, and workers who worked on floors seventy-five to eighty-three. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. killing approximately 185 individuals (History.com Staff). Because of the damaged to the support system, fires, and impact at extremely fast speed, the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. (Lipton and Glanz). Having heard about the acts of terrorism that had just taken place in New York and Washington, D.C., a group of passengers drove their plane, Flight 93, into a Pennsylvania field killing everyone on board but possibly saving hundreds of other lives in the process. The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m. 102 minutes after being struck (History.com Staff). On September 11, 2001, almost twelve hundred people were wounded or killed by “coordinated suicide attempts” by Al Qaeda terrorists. In result to the four airplanes being hijacked and used for premediated reasons, the United States government instituted new regulations for entering the country and airport security as well as expounded on systems already in place.
viii. Support: It caused the south tower to collapse before the north tower at approximately 9:59 AM. (Wood 1)
On September 11, 2001 the World Trade Center buildings one and two were attacked. However, who we were attacked by and even if we were attacked is a hard decision to make. There have been many different claims about how everything on that fateful day happened. There are facts that we know are true, though; Flight 11 flew into the North Tower at eight forty- six in the morning. Soon after, Flight 175 attacked the South Tower. By the end of the day, both towers had collapsed and other hijacked flights had caused damage. The amount of lives lost on September 11 was substantial; 2,749 people from eighty-three different countries died from the attacks (Facts about the attacks…, n.d.). All in all, America was changed forever.
