Romeo and Juliet the Irony The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, an amazing story written by William Shakespeare in the late 1500s, is about two people who have never met and fall in love then take their lives to show the love they have for each other. Shakespeare's use of irony showed that true love can have dire consequences for yourself and others. Romeo & Juliet is full of irony. One of these is dramatic irony and an example of this is to create peace they both committed suicide. By killing them the audience knew that it would create peace.
