Loyalty is a dangerous thing. Given to the right person it can be a beautiful thing, however it can also lead to blind faith in the wrong person. For example loyalty to a close friend helps cultivate trust and understanding. If one is loyal to one's friend/partner chances are the relationship will last, whereas if one turns in one’s friend/partner the first chance one gets people will tend not to be friends with one. If one tends to not be loyal other people will have no problem not being loyal to one. An example of loyalty gone wrong is Adolf Hitler's followers. These people followed him to genocide. They believed his every word and assumed that because he didn’t like a certain type of people they deserved to die. These people
Loyalty is trait that every person in the world should have. An example of loyalty is when
Loyalty is “faithfulness to commitments or obligations.” However, can you put your loyalty in the wrong place? In the book The Chrysalids by John Wyndham, the members of Waknuk betray their families, punish hypocrites, and push people to turn over deviants. These concepts demonstrate how the members of Waknuk believe group loyalty comes before personal loyalty.
Loyalty is heroic. Loyalty is defined as faithfulness or devotion to a person, cause, obligations, or duties. In Homer's Odyssey one can see loyalty in many forms. Odysseus is loyal to the gods whom he realized held his life in their hands. Penelope was loyal to Odysseus, while trying not to offend the rude suitors. Telemachus was loyal to a father whom he only knew from the stories he had been told. Time and time again we see loyalty in the strongest sense, complete fidelity in time of uncertainty.
One of the examples of loyalty is when Ponyboy gets jumped and his friends show up and chase the Socs away. Afterwards, they comforted him because he got cut up and acted like he was part of their one big family. They cared about Ponyboy and told him to never go alone and bring a switchblade. They told him that if he ever wanted to go to the movies, any one of them would take him. They all go to the same places together and look out for each other. When Ponyboy got hurt by the Socs, the entire gang tried to catch them.
Loyalty is a trait that is desired throughout all cultures. In Beowulf’s quest to assist Hrothgar’s kingdom from a terrible demon, Grendel, Beowulf and his comrades show what true loyalty is in their most vulnerable times. Beowulf was the first warrior to offer aid for Hrothgar’s problem. He ended off with a victory and later ended up sacrificing his life for others. Even though in “Beowulf” loyalty is critical to reputation, modern day culture demonstrates that loyalty doesn’t have much of a significance anymore, but it can still be found.
Loyal people are hard to find, and “Those who don't know the value of loyalty can never appreciate the cost of betrayal” (Anonymous). Loyal people are hard to find these days. Generally, people only looking out for themselves and who have no concern for anyone else. Having loyalty to someone will make both parties closer in the end because they will trust each other and there will be no uncertainty in the relationship. In William Shakespeare's tragedy Julius Caesar and Ambrose Bierce’s short story “A Horseman in the Sky”, loyalty affect people's lives.
I define loyalty as the willingness of a person to sacrifice at their own personal expense in order to protect, uphold, defend and edify those persons, ideals and/or things which they cherish most. The amount of loyalty a person feels towards someone or something determines how much they are willing to sacrifice for them. As a soldier, we are called upon to sacrifice every aspect of our lives - the physical, the mental, the emotional and the spiritual - in order to protect, uphold, defend and edify the U.S. constitution, the Army, our fellow soldiers and the nation and heritage
People were motivated to be loyal in order to succeed because the more loyal, the more recognition a person
In the story Caliban didn't like the baby at first but then he learned his lesson by snarling at the baby then getting in trouble, but after a mistake his master didn't respect him anymore and then Caliban got shot because he just assumed that caliban killed the baby even though he didn't. Getting talked out of trusting your loyal dog is how I see the third example of how loyalty doesn't guarantee respect back.
Here we are faced with a problem. What is loyalty? Is loyalty siding with a family member/friend regardless whether the person is right or wrong? Is loyalty, 'either you are with me or against me'? How far will we willingly go out on a limb to be loyal at the expense of ourselves, and maybe our careers and daily bread, or the bigger picture? These are questions which are haunting me.
Loyalty usually goes hand in hand with honesty. Even though we as humans sometimes feel the need to portray ourselves as saints, no one is perfect. Loyal doesn’t always have to mean honesty. The people that I find loyal in my life have always been devoted and faithfully supportive to me. No matter how hard I fall nor how big the mistake, they are always there when I needed them to help pick me up when I falter. My best friend Gia, who is also now the Godmother of my daughter, is the perfect example of this. No matter how harsh the situation was she was always there. Being there for me wasn’t always easy. That being said, loyalty doesn’t always mean that you agree with the point of view or what they have done. Gia has been there for me through a bad relationship that she knew was horrible for me. She tried to reason with me but I turned a deaf ear to it all. She remained loyal to me even though she didn’t support the direction that I was going in. I will always consider her my
Loyalty is an important trait that it can help people to be successful and to keep their relationship longer. For example, if the members of a group are not loyal to their leader, then their work as a group will never be done or perfect. However, If they are loyal to their leader, then their team will be a successful team and can achieve more goals. Devotion
The concept of loyalty comes in many different forms, and can also be defined in multiple ways by different types of people. On the other hand, loyalty can also be viewed as a virtue that may be hard to define at times. Loyalty is something that every living being has. A dog is loyal to his owner because they provide the dog with food, shelter, and love. A kid is loyal to their parents for keeping them alive and well. Even though loyalty can be tested at times, the people who are there from the beginning will still be there at the end, if their loyalty really stands true. An American novelist, essayist, bookseller and screenwriter, Larry McMurtry, once said that “the whole point of loyalty was not to change: stick with those who stuck with
Loyalty is something I take very seriously, because loyalty is everything, whether it’s a friendship, relationship or just trusting someone. Putting your trust in someone and being loyal to them is something that is hard to come by.
Loyalty is sticking with the people who have hurt you or lost your trust. It’s having
