Becoming mature comes with age and time. Maturity is dependent on a person’s age because they’re more experienced and learned from their mistakes. People mature by learning from their mistakes and improving. For example, in Antigone, when Creon realized many people were affected by putting Antigone to death, he tried to fix it. This shows that he has done something wrong and at the end he learned from it so he would not do it again. In addition to Antigone, Shakespeare wrote about 2 kids who did not make wise choices. When someone has more experience with age they would not make certain decisions. For instance, in Romeo and Juliet, they were only 13 and thought they were in love. They were too young and killed themselves because they could
Mature. The definition of mature is; one that is fully developed physically; fully-grown. To me, mature means you are able to watch out for yourself and others, you are able to have manners, and you are reliable as well as responsible. Mature doesn’t have an age to it. There are many kids who are very young, for example, six or seven, who are mature. Others don’t mature until they are about thirteen or fourteen. It really just depends on the background of that individual. Maturity all ties into the changes that Scout undergoes in the book To Kill a Mockingbird.
Maturity is not a fickle expression such as happiness or frustration, but rather an inherent quality one gains over time, such as courage or integrity. Before maturity can be expressed, the one who expresses it must have significant confidence in himself, since self-confidence is the root of maturity. Being flexible and formulating one's own opinions or ideas are aspects of maturity, but neither is possible without self-confidence. The greatest aspect of maturity is the ability to make decisions which society does not agree with. Whether or not one follows through with these ideas is not important. What is important is the ability to make the decision. These decisions represent the greatest measure
I do not believe that age has anything to do with maturity. I believe that the experiences someone has makes them mature;in addition, I also believe that what a person has been through has a lot to do with it.
Maturity is a state that everybody tries to reach during their lives. Children spend their infancy, and sometimes adolescence, growing up and learning how to behave in the adults and work world. Schools teach them dissimilarities between these two different worlds. There isn’t a precise age in which kids become mature, it depends on the experiences they had, their society, their family and other causes. In the movie and novel The Giver, the community has a rite of passage where children, during the annual ceremony, become more mature and assume more responsibilities until they get into adulthood.
To attain maturity, you must have a loss of innocence. For example, when a kid finds out that Santa Claus is not real, he is disappointed and cannot believe the fact that there is no Santa Claus, because
I believe maturity is not dependent on a person’s age because humans are affected by different situations, are different genders and are raised differently.
Generational Trauma Generational trauma is a recurring theme in the story Antigone. The theme is introduced in both the play, by Sophocles, and in the 2019 film Antigone by Sophie Deraspe. Both versions demonstrate that traumatic events can have emotional and psychological effects on later generations, doing so through textual evidence or the actions of the characters in the movie. In the film, a family of Algerian immigrants are introduced as they escape their home and country of Algeria.

Before we continue, we should discuss what maturity is. According to Wikipedia, the definition of maturity is “ a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate and adaptive manner.” This response is generally learned rather than instinctual, and is not determined by one's age. Maturity also encompasses awareness of the correct time and place to behave, knowing when to act with appropriate emotion for the situation. Maturity incorporates personal accountability, meaning you take ownership of situations you are involved in. By following one’s conscience, you are taking personal accountability.
I had always been mature for my age; I started kindergarten when I was four and I made up for that age gap by acting a little older. However, the true maturity that I hold now, the maturity people refer to when they say I am “wise beyond [my] years” did not develop in kindergarten, or even in school.
To many, maturity means growing up, forgetting about childhood memories, and starting off as someone knew. However, we have to keep in mind that not all people mature with time; instead, they mature as they confront and face obstacles placed in their way, such as corruption and death. For starters, many situations having to do with corruption and bigotry force us to mature and make a change. To illustrate, in Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, “The Hunger Games,” the protagonist, Katniss Everdeen, is selected as a tribute for the annual games played to the death. Consequently, she is forced to mature in order to survive, which she does.
The line between bravery and recklessness is very thin, and sometimes the two are indistinguishable; however, there are times when one becomes the other. Throughout the Greek tragedy Antigone, Sophocles portrays Antigone as a bold and fearless character. Even after her uncle Creon, the king, forbids the burial of her disgraced brother Polyneices, she defies his orders to follow the gods’ commands. When her act is discovered, she makes no effort to defend herself, and readily accepts her fate: a penalty of death. At the end, she hangs herself in her last act of defiance. Although Antigone is hailed as a tragic hero with honorable intentions, it is her own foolishness that caused her demise and others’ misfortune. While her intentions are courageous and noble, Antigone’s fatal flaw of recklessness ultimately leads her and the people around her to tragedy.
Antigone is thought to be a tragic hero because of everything that had happened to her throughout her life. She lost her father Oedipus through a curse and her brothers through battle. The only one that was left was her sister Ismene. Her brother Polyneices died in battle being a traitor to his family. There was a rule made from the king of Thebes stated that no one can mourn for or bury him. But Antigone did not care she still loved Polyneices and thought that he deserved to have a proper burial like his brother Eteocles. Foreshadowing, mood, and situational irony are used in the drama to explain peripeteia the reversal of fortune, nemesis fate that you can't avoid, and catharsis when the audience is feeling pity

In Jean Anouilh’s version of the play, Antigone, the protagonist, Antigone, is interpreted as a member of the resistance to despotism that parallels the antifascist French resistance against the Nazi occupation. Anouilh’s controversial play was performed in 1944 under Nazi-controlled Paris, so when Antigone sacrifices her life to defy the oppressive ruler Creon, Anouilh makes Antigone not only a heroine, but also a symbol for resistance. Anouilh based his playwright on Sophocles’ version, which was originally written in 442 BC in Ancient Greece. However, Anouilh uses different literary devices such as anachronisms, allusions, similes and symbolism to relate the story to the most disturbing dilemma during his time in the 1940’s. He writes his play to show the importance in joining the French resistance, but he must also make his play acceptable to the controlling Nazis. As such, the play Antigone can be interpreted as a political allegory of Vichy France.
