So it comes to this. The English army is in the process of tearing down the ancient woods, preparing to defeat the one whom I despise the most, Macbeth. Oh Macbeth! This tyrant sits behind the walls of Dunsinane while Malcolm and his mighty force prepare to usurp him. Macbeth’s forces will be dashed against the walls of his castle, like waves against the ocean wall. Only then will Scotland be returned to order. And only the death of that accursed Macbeth will avenge my family’s deaths.
Some say I should have never paid my respect to you; after all, you are the cause of the heartbreak that haunts my every day. How could I have not seen your true intentions? How could I have been so fooled by your dishonesty? All I see now is the vicious side

It approaches and when it recedes, nothing remains… all is gone. Did merciful heaven look on, and would not take their part? Oh sinful Macduff! It was your fault! Wherefore did I need to be away at such a critical time? Oh, I could play the woman with mine eyes and braggart with my tongue! [Heavy breathing] Nay cut the nonsense! There is time enough for breathing later, for I must speak of that no more. Just as Malcolm advised, I should make medicine of my great revenge and let anger sharpen my sword. My focus now must be on the tyrant Macbeth. After all, it was the devil of Scotland who has murdered my family!
I never thought of him to be a traitor. He was once a loyal, kind warrior who was much beloved by King Duncan and many others. His great battle against the Norwegian forces and their traitorous allies proved him a warrior. He won that battle for us. His great enterprise made us mighty. That was the Macbeth I once respected and truly honoured. He had gained respect, power, glory, high reputation… but it was not enough. Nothing was enough for that bloody tyrant Macbeth! [Heavy breathing] Yet I see it now… that Macbeth’s nature is not of a warrior. It is that of a

People whispered that he made a deal with the devil and I cannot agree more. And it was further evident from all these new deaths in Scotland, day after day. Ever since, Macbeth became an unstable miscreant deserving of every name whispered behind his back. And Scotland bled. My beloved Scotland is in chaos!
When night falls and light is no longer there to protect our men and my family, vulnerability and suffering is exposed. Now, the time has come. Will it be justice or duty? Will we obtain what is rightfully ours? My hand finds the pommel of my sword. If Macbeth dealt with the devil, then there must be a God. Perchance this is God’s way of sending a message that I was meant to take the sword. To free Scotland from the tyrant Macbeth. To avenge the deaths of my family. My heart tells me that this is what I must do. Blood will have blood. But my voice is in my sword. I will fight, not only to avenge my family, but to heal my beloved, scarred
Macbeth was once thought to be a trustworthy and loyal man. That person is despising the way Macbeth is ruling the kingdom. Macbeth was this man who everyone called brave, ambitious, but then everyone is just scared of him. He was another dictator, no one liked him but went along because no one wanted to get killed. He was greedy for this position, he did not care
But yet I’ll make assurance double sure” (4, 1, 81-82) Macduff is still seen as an imminent threat to power. Respectively, Macbeth has more murderers set out, who successfully kill Macduff’s wife and babes. Enraged, the demand “Bring thou this fiend of Scotland and myself; within my sword’s length set him" (4, 3, 236) is stated. Empowered by the words of the Apparitions, Macbeth believes his life cannot be taken by Macduff, and resultantly, the position of power continues to be heedlessly defended, distinctly portrayed by the quote from Macbeth, “Bring it after me.- I will not be afraid of death and bane” (5, 4, 60). Desperate to defend his pride and reputation, it is before his final moments in battle that it is declared “I will try the last. Before my body, I throw on my warlike shield.” (5, 8, 32-33). Macbeth’s mindless, overwhelming need for power ultimately leads to his
Macbeth believes that his fate is to be the King of Scotland. However, it cannot excuse that he betray his King, his killing of innocent people like Macduff’s families, and his greed and ambitious
Sae Koyama Ms. Holdsworth J3 Language Arts Creative Writing – Macbeth Eulogy Macbeth was a great friend of mine – always ambitious, a most valiant man in battle – but he was also a traitor to the crown. Today I would like to speak in honor of him, for although he betrayed the late King Duncan, he was also my friend, someone I could rely on as a fellow warrior to fight for his homeland.
Just as the character spectrum flows from hero to villain, Macbeth also gradually makes his way down the line. In the very beginning of the play (before making his appearance), Macbeth’s fellow Scots and lords praise him for his loyalty and noble deeds. Here, it is made clear that the public initially views him as a heroic figure who is loyal to Scotland; “for brave Macbeth, (well he deserves that name)”(9) Admittedly, Macbeth does unseam a man “from the nave to th’ chops”(9), however this is considered an act of valor in the service of his country and his king. However, Macbeth’s loyalties soon become questionable, as he plots to and then commits the murder of his honored king, Duncan. At this point, the audience
William Shakespeare, one of the most prolific playwrights of all time, has a select number of elite plays. One such play, Macbeth, tells the story of a brutal, 11th Century, Scottish power struggle. Towards the beginning of the theatrical, a legendary battle occurs, and subsequently, a military captain tells the king, Duncan, how the campaign transpired. The Captain's’ monologue, recounting to Duncan the timeline of the bloodshed is vital to the play as a whole, due to it setting a bloody precedent for the rest of the theatrical to follow.
In the opening of “Macbeth,” Macbeth was a very distinguished war hero. His heart was pure, and his murders in battle were praised. His kills were justifiable acts, still cold in nature. From battle, he learned to separate man from silhouette and eliminate those who stood in his way. The day Macbeth met with a group of witches, would be the last day of his humanity. The witches told Macbeth he would soon be King of Cawdor, then King of Scotland.
In a scene that hints the last destruction of a despot in single battle, Macbeth is tested by the courageous son of Siward. Instantly a short time later, Macduff is seen willingly searching out the man who was in charge of the murder of his family. In conclusion, it is reported that Macbeth's powers have surrendered Dunsinane castle. Be that as it may, the business is not yet wrapped up.
Here I stand today, before a nation, before beloved brothers and sisters, friends and family, Thanes and Generals, in mourning and anguish for the passing of its King. Not only will Macbeth be known as a dauntless soldier far worthy of any heroics, he had endured till the very end with strong inimitable and individual pride towards his cause and his country. Macbeth was able to firmly grasp his morals and ethics that shaped him in everyday life. A truly gentle heart, that Scotland has annihilated and perished, but shall always be remembered and cherished, not forgotten and shamed upon.
The night was dark and the sky stormed as if it were a fragment of hell itself. Cold rain cut through any layers of warmth that remained in Macduff. Behind him, Macbeth’s castle cast light on the horizon. “I don’t believe in spirits much, but a night like this could bring out the foulest of creatures.” Macduff thought to himself. The storm spooked his horse, but they trudged along. Macduff had fought harder battles against real enemies, no storm, no matter how harsh, was going to stop his progress. There were rumors whispered in eager ears, suspicions, that Macbeth had murdered men, including Duncan, to claim the throne.
Macbeth starts to worry about what might happen next. After hearing the witches tell him that he knows he has to do something, that something is to murder Macduffs family. After he murders his family and they tell Macduff about it “Did you say “all”? O hell-kite! All?
Macbeth realizes that the prophecy that the three witches told him is coming true, which blew his mind. Macduff fights for honor and Macbeth fights to kill and to stay alive even though he knows that he is destined to perish.
After this Macbeth kills Macduff whole family and servants to send Macduff a message for being disloyal and he thinks that Macduff suspects him of something as well. This is shown when Macbeth says “The castle of Macduff I will surprise, Seize upon Fife, give to th' edge o' th' sword His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls That trace him in his
In William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” the audience witness’s one man’s overriding ambitions to his iconic fall. Shakespeare makes a point of showing the deterioration of the Macbeth that entered the stage in Act 1 and the Macbeth that dies in act 7, showing that even the deep morality and honesty of a man like a man can worsen into a man who is willing to kill his own King – a deadly sin in Shakespeare’s 17th century. Throughout my piece I shall make unifying links between the adaptation directed by Mark Brozel and the original text wrote by none other than Shakespeare.
Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Beware Macduff! Beware the Than of Fife!…Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Be bloody, bold and resolute. Laugh to scorn the power of man, for none of woman born shall harm Macbeth…Be lion-mettled, proud and take no care who chafes, who frets or where conspirers are. Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill shall come against him.
