The character Macbeth exhibits many symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder throughout the play like when Macbeth is being anxious and When Macbeth is not able to sleep at all. These symptoms that are exhibited by Macbeth throughout the play include “obsessions of anxiety, jumpiness, and inability to sleep” (Bossler 437). At the beginning of the play once Macbeth's plan is completed he is very jumpy and anxious. Macbeth hears a sound and gets scared this seems weird for him as he is a warrior. Macbeth states "How is't with me when every noise appalls me?" (2.2.55). Even Macbeth is confused on how this could happen to him as just a chapter before he was a confident young man. Just a chapter before Macbeth was scared of nothing not even death
