Introduction: During the writing of the novel, Brave New World, Huxley saw the way society was beginning to change. Aldous Huxley, the author of Brave New World, incorporates promiscuity in his utopian society called the World State, to foreshadow that the world is conforming to Huxley’s beliefs. Throughout the novel he explores many different predictions that have started to affect our world today. One of the biggest changes that Huxley predicted was the way promiscuity has changed their views on romantic relationships. As Huxley explored these views he was able to foreshadow into the world today. Analysis Portion: Aldous Huxley foresees that promiscuity will come to be socially acceptable and engrained in culture due to the lack of romantic relationships. At a very young age, children in the World State are conditioned that sexual activity is socially acceptable and encouraged. In their society classes are taken to promote this kind of behavior. The nurse in the conditioning room explains, “We had Elementary Sex for the first forty minutes”, she answered. “But now it switched over to Elementary Class Consciousness” (27). Thus explaining how the children are educated every day about sexual activities.
