Protagonists and Antagonists The major and Lina are actually some what alike. They both need their way and they will not give up if the don't get it. An example of the major when he doesn't get his way. “I’m twelve ,” said Lina “Silence!” said the major. (pg. 217). As you can see if the major does not get his way, he will get faeroes. On the other hand, Lina is almost the same way she will persevere through tough times. An example of this is when poppy walked away from her. “Poppy!” Lina called. “Poppy!” Her voice rose to a shout.” (79) as you can see she will do anything for family. The major is selfish because he wants all to himself and will refuse to share. Lina was brave throughout the whole book an example of this is, “Doon,

When Lina is out trying to buy color pencils for herself, a power shortage occurs and she loses Poppy, “But the thought of Poppy alone in the blackness, and her legs went weak. I must find her,” (p. 78). Even though Lina was there for her own luxury, when disaster hits the only thought was to find Poppy and showing genuine concern for her sister, which shows the value of family. Another example of genuine care is when Granny dies and Lina is with Mrs. Murdo, “‘Don’t worry about Poppy, I’ll take care of her,’… ‘You must move in here with me,’” (p.142).

Heroism is a conflict with many sides. For example, there are many different qualities of a hero, like T.A. Barron explains in his opinion piece on heroism. Malala Yousafzai, a crusader from Pakistan and the main protagonist of the book, The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis, Parvana, are two heroes in their own ways. The two heroes have different as well as similar ways of exploiting those characteristics. Selflessness is an important quality of a hero.
In literature, numerous connections and contrasting features are prevalent. Archetypes, motifs, and natural heroic personality traits have created the generic structures of heroes, villains and everything in between. For example, heros are considered to be enduring, courageous, and powerful. While on the other side of the spectrum, villains have been traditionally considered to be moody, mercurial with their temper, and overall a nuisance over society. A good story will make connections between the protagonist and the antagonist.
A strong protagonist is some you should understand as if you were in the book. The protagonist goes on a journey to play a part in our lesson, they are the key to the problem being solved. A character shows a view through a different eye, which can let you open your brain for a stronger set of ideas. They should be our heros if our real life world is not perfect. They shows us how to view the world differently. We become one with protagonist and experience the changes of their personality. The protagonist brings us to a different world which we develope our second self. They allow us to think through a different eye and be placed in different shoes. The protagonist is usually the hero in which we claim examples by. According to Rekenthaler on page 8, line 70-71,“we become one and the same with the story's protagonist”, they set our examples to prepare us for the real world. Lisa Cron showed that on page 17, line 54-56, “Writers can change the way people think by giving them a glimpse of life through their characters’ eyes.” An argument can consist of two or more parts, but both characters both believe that the other is wrong. If they switched positions their opinion could change and they would view the argument from a different eye. Story can transport you into the other person's view without actual
Popular descriptions of Alexei Karenin label him as a cold and passionless government official who doesn’t care about his wife or family. Indeed, he is viewed as the awful husband who is holding Anna hostage in a loveless marriage. However, this is a highly exaggerated description, if not completely false, analysis of Karenin. Upon careful analysis of Karenin’s character and his actions, it is clear that he is not the person Anna makes him out to be. In fact, with thorough examination of the passage on pages 384 and 385 of Anna Karenina, it is clear that Alexei Karenin can be considered the hidden tragic hero of the novel.
“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Campbell 1). When we think of heroes most of us think of movie stars or professional athletes, but it’s not always about your popularity or talent it can also be about how you help society. What I think make a great hero is someone who is able to overcome his or her obstacles in life, is highly motivated, and has plenty of bravery.
Most of the characters are likable, because many of them go through the struggles that you yourself might be going through. When clary felt frightened that her mother has left she reacted as many of us may react “ clary felt a scream rising up in her chest: “mom” she shrieked. “Where are you mommy!””(Clare 49).
