While both families and Friar Laurence are partially responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, Fate is mostly to blame. Both the Montagues and the Capulets can be blamed for the deaths of their children. From the quote in the story “from forth the fatal loins of these two foes”(Doc A) shows that they could be blamed because Romeo and Juliet were born into families that were feuding with each other for generations. Also Lady Capulet is pressuring Juliet to marry Paris and the quote that supports this is “Well think of marriage now”(Doc B). Capulet is to blame because he knows that Juliet doesn’t want to marry Paris but he tells her “or never look me in the face” telling Juliet he will disown her (Doc D).
