Many years ago on the inner city of New York there was an accident that led to apocalyptic disaster that sent the country into chaos. Disease spread like a wildfire, crime flooded the streets, and food and other supplies began to run dangerously low. The man responsible for this, was a once a world known food critic known as Joey “The Big Mac”. He had such a passion for food that he was willing to put five-star businesses on the streets if there was one flaw in their meal. Since he had immense wealth, he hired highly skilled mercs to do his dirty work and steal the supplies of the little surviving settlements. Greed got to his head though so instead of being the fit and healthy man he used to be, he became overweight and wouldn't even feed …show more content…
The settlement leader and a few guards greeted them at the front gate of the settlement. The caravan drive quickly told the leader about the ghouls, raiders, and mercenaries that may come their way. Ian was lead to the center of the camp where the marketplace was, there he was greeted by a young boy named Juan Martínez Villanueva. The young boy led him through the settlement telling him everything he needed to know. Juan Martínez Villanueva introduced Ian to all of the shop owners that he would need to know on his journey to stop Joey from destroying everything in his path. Sheldon was the arms merchant, Ron was the armor merchant, and Rohandra was the medical merchant. Juan Martínez Villanueva gave Ian 50 caps that her stole from his neighbor Stewart. This wasn’t enough to buy anything of significant use so Ian had to use his own personal store of caps. Sheldon was willing to give him 40 free bullets for any gun he chose to buy, to a certain extent of course. Ian got a 44. Revolver, a few improvised grenades, and a small combat knife then continued to Ron to buy some armor. Ron was willing to give Ian a full suit of combat armor if he did a little favor for him. Stewart thought that Ron had taken the 50 caps, so he took the combat armor that Ron will give to Ian. Ron had found a spare key to the back of his house for Ian to go through. Ian waited until night to try and infiltrate …show more content…
All three shop-owners and guards immediately ran to the front of the settlement and opened fire on the raging ghouls and the raiders coming from behind. When guards started to fall citizens replaced them and kept the attackers at bay. The raiders stayed behind and let the ghouls do some work while they stayed back and fired on the settlement from a distance. Ian climbed the wall of the settlement to flank the raiders and take the ghouls by surprise. Ian crept through the shrubs behind the raiders until he was right on them, he quickly took out the three snipers with his combat knife. The remaining raiders heard the screams of their fallen teammates, and quickly focused their fire on Ian. Ian dove behind a boulder on the hill and started firing on the aggressing raiders. Two raiders decided to rush him, but were taken by surprise when Ian jumped from the top of the boulder and brought a steel-toed stomp to one of their faces, while shooting the other. Ian heard more gunfire and peeked from the boulder to see the remaining raiders taken out by the settlement snipers. Ian quickly returned to the settlement to take care of the ghouls, but was pinned down by a surviving raider who was wielding a knife. Ian and the raider tussled on the ground, until the raider brought the knife to Ian’s throat. Ian closed his eyes waiting for the inevitable, but all he heard was a ear-piercing gun shot and then a

When he opens the door, it reveals Angus smiling ear to ear breathing heavy as if he had run from the church to his house.
In the last decade, the prevalence of Detroiters lack of fresh food and basic needs has been covered wildly by journalists in the United States. This crisis, often called a food desert, has affected the poorest citizens still confined inside Detroit's inner city today. It has ultimately caused obesity, health issues and an overall lower quality of life for the community. This crisis is a direct effect of the capitalist industry that exploited the city, its people and its economy in the 20th century. Not only the private automobile industry in Detroit, but private food companies also exploit impoverished areas with cheap and processed food. These forgotten laborers of Detroit
Many children facing serious medical crisis travel to different states and even to a different country from where they live in to get the necessary medical treatment. Nothing seems scarier to a young child, than not having his or her family with them through this tough time. Families are stronger when they are together but for some of them, traveling with their hospitalized child can be very difficult due to economic issues. The Ronald McDonald House (RMHC) has taken action to be that “home-away-from-home” that many families need.
Imagine yourself behind the counter or in the drive- through window at McDonalds. You are programmed how to act and what to say. You have been working there for three years and earn a salary of $5.50 an hour. You have never exceeded 29 hours while working there. These circumstances are true for over 40 percent of six million people employed in restaurants today. The reason for these circumstances are due to the change in our society by which the consumer wants the biggest, fastest, and best product they can get for their money. This change in society can be attributed to a process known as McDonaldization. Although McDonaldization can be applied to many other parts of our society, this paper will focus on its impacts on the inequalities
This small noise caused the warrior to awaken. He chased Emma as he pulled out his weapon, a knife that shot fire. In just a few milliseconds, the bottom half of Emma's comfy jacket was scorched badly beyond repair. Emma turned a corner and realized she was in a dead end. She thought her end was near, but just as the boy raised the knife to deliver a killing blow, Emma's hand landed on part of the hedge. She fell through a now open hole which instantly closed. She fell into a different part of the maze. Happy as she had avoided her death, she crept around the new exciting part of her doom
The McCaffreys are in a sticky situation as they have tied up land for a development project and everything seems to be falling apart. They have deadlines to meet and so many moving pieces that I had to read the Case Study several times to wrap my head around it all.
James pushes a button on a remote detonator. An explosion throws the north gate off its hinges and knocks several men dead inside the camp. James storms through the gate shooting around and enters the main building.
George Ritzer describes McDonaldization as “the process by which the principles of the fast-food restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as the rest of the world”. McDonaldization is the idea that our society is becoming more efficient and more fast paced. Rational systems can be defined as “unreasonable, dehumanizing systems that deny the humanity, the human reason, of the people who work within them or are served by them”.1 Today there are many types of businesses that are increasingly adapting the same values and principles of the fast-food industry to their needs. Rational systems are dehumanizing our society and seem to be even more irrational than convenient. “Almost every aspect of
