Executive Summary: PepsiCo Inc. is an American multinational food and beverage corporation headquartered in Purchase, New York. The company manufactures, markets, and distributes grain-based snack foods, beverages, and other products. In 1965 PepsiCo was formed by the merger of the Pepsi-Cola Company and Frito-Lay, Inc. Since PepsiCo’s merger it has even further expanded its range of products. In 1998 PepsiCo acquired Tropicana to broaden its beverage products, and to offer juices that were a healthier alternative to soda. They also merged with Quaker Oats in 2001, which gave them a foothold in an entirely new product line. Each segment is made up 6 different reportable segments. Frito-Lay North America is part of the food segment and operates independently or through contracted manufactures. FLNA’s main operations are to produce, market, sell, and distribute PepsiCo’s name branded snack food products. Some of the foods FLNA manufactures are Lay’s potato chips, Doritos, SunChips, and Cheetos. FLNA’s products are sold to independent distributors or retailers who then in turn sell the products to customers. The second food segment is Quaker Food North America; this segment also works independently or through contract manufacturers. GFNA manufactures such products as Quaker oatmeal, Aunt Jemima, and Pasta Roni. Like Frito-Lay North America, QFNA is tasked with marketing and selling its products to independent distributors and retailers. The third contributor to the food segment is Latin American Foods. They manufacture products such as Doritos, Cheetos, and Ruffles. LAF operates the same as the other two food segments. It markets and sells its own products and then sells them to distributors and retailers. The second business segment is beverages, which is just made up of one business unit called PepsiCo Americas Beverages. PAB creates, markets, and sells beverage concentrates, fountain syrups and finished goods for brands including Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Tropicana, and Naked juice. PAB also provides
