You want to make money and get a higher education? some people think Chicago is too challenging to succeed. I am that person who leaves in Chicago from last 4 year. There is always a dream city for every one where people like to spend their life, earn money and enjoy with friends and family. Every one has different expectations from the city which They want to live in, and I think Chicago is the best city to live in because of architecture, culture, and the food. first i will talk about architecture
There are many reasons that made Chicago an apple pie to stay in it,its tall skyscraper is one of eight. also cloud gate is the one of the best examples of that Chicago is blessed with extraordinary infrastructures with the help of architecture
By 1889, the locale had two names, community of “Motlo” or “Motto”, named after a Seminole chief and Lemon City which prevailed for being more appealing. Even though Lemon City had a general store, barbershop, saloon, blacksmith shop, wharves and warehouses, a school, and a hotel, all prior to the coming of the railroad in 1896 and the birth of City of Miami, the city was never incorporated becoming known as “the city that never was.”
2. The community of Chicago was very close, and very outgoing in itself. “The wait was electric, for Chicago was a prideful place… So far the year had been a fine one. Chicago’s population had topped one million for the first time, making the city the second most populous nation after New York.” (pg 13) Chicago takes pride in everything about the city. From its population to its world famous fair, the city beams in the light of its pride, and failure is seen as a humiliating disgrace.
Most cities have plenty more championships and wins. Take the New England Patriots as an example. They have been to 8 super bowls and have won half of them along with having winning seasons after winning seasons. Or another example is the Pittsburgh Steelers. ¨The Steelers have played in eight Super Bowls, winning six of them, including four in six years¨ (Super Bowl History). Although teams have more successful wins, their story and their fans are nothing compared to Cleveland’s. Overall Cleveland, Ohio is the best sports city because of the money the city generates, the love of the fans, and the history of the
The stage performance of Chicago offered a spectacle that I expected before attending the show. I knew there was going to be scantly clad girls with dark makeup and saucy attitudes. The performers brought to life all that was raunchy in the entertainment business during the roaring twenties. The lifestyle in Chicago featured jazz, booze, sex and crime. More importantly, Chicago had beautiful, young women with the dream of having their own Vaudeville act. The two main female characters, Velma and Roxy were two such women hoping to capture the public's attention. The composition of the show is a metaphoric integration of Vaudeville type acts amongst the book scenes and diegetic musical numbers.
Can you considered yourself safe even if it the city you were born? Many people are living out in the streets because of violent, outrageous taxes and government corrupt. You’re probably the next one to have that fate. Chicago is your best bet on being the worse city to live.
Unfortunately, I had to find someone else to speak with due to the fact that all my calls were not returned. I spoke with Bradley Roback at the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), City of Chicago. Bradley Roback is an Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Chicago. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Biological Sciences from Illinois State University and obtained his M.S., Master of Sciences, Public Service Management from Depaul University. His concentration is in Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs. Prior to his role at the DPD, he was the Director of Transportation Services with the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, located in East Hazel Crest, IL. Bradley's other interest include, creating
Not only for its high-rises, architectural feats, business opportunity, or what have you; but the diversity, as well.
My capstone project was to go to Chicago and to see many high quality art in art museum and murals/monuments in public in the city. It was also to study the diverse art culture of Chicago.
into a pattern of lines. When I walked in the street, lights from stores and
But this is the kind of environment I for some strange reason find attractive. Forgetting about the negative things that have been said about NYC, you have to remember that there are also so many possibilities in the bustling streets. The city opens doors for new opportunities and experiences, even if you’re stuck in a low paid job, it’s amazing to be able to slap NYC experience on your CV. There is so much competition between people that live in New York, the city will force you to constantly be the best the you can be and at the top of your game. I would like to be in an environment where I am constantly trying and encouraged to better myself, and NYC is the perfect place for that kind of tough love and
As the city 's center becomes older and less desirable, the value goes down. This then attracts people who want to be centrally located, and now in the 21st century people tend to believe that the suburbs have less “character” and that most cities are considered to be “edgy” and “urban”, which is another reason as to why young, wealthy, white workers want to be located in the inner-city. Our pop culture is heavily influenced by black culture, so young people want to live where it’s hip, as well as reasonable.
Some other inexpensive attractions in Chicago are the different museums and exhibits scattered around the downtown area.
Living in America is a fantasy for a lot of people, but living in New York City is something even better, and more magical than any fantasy.
For Christmas and my sixteenth birthday present my parents planned a trip for me to go to New York City with my dad. Two days after Christmas me and my dad hopped on the plane and headed for New Jersey and New York City. I was very excited because I had been to New Jersey but I never visited New York City before. I also remember being excited because of that fact that I would actually get to see snow in the winter since it rarely ever snowed in Houston during the winter. Then that next year during my junior year in High School, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Los Angeles with my drill team. I was very excited to get to go to both of these huge awesome cities in that two year period. Both of these cities were unique in their own way. So what makes a city similar to another city and what makes a city different to another city? The people, the weather, the vibe, the monuments and popular attractions are all some of the components of what makes a city unlike any other city. My two favorite cities besides Houston are New York and Los Angeles. I have visited both and like them both equally for different reasons. While New York and Los Angeles definitely have their similarities, they also have many differences that set them apart from each other.
The city I propose as a perfect city, would be as close to an ecocity as possible, although have some differences. For example, for electrical needs, I would suggest the city have a solar power plant, but on those desperate times, energy would be bought from other electrical plants from nearby towns or states.
