Most cities have plenty more championships and wins. Take the New England Patriots as an example. They have been to 8 super bowls and have won half of them along with having winning seasons after winning seasons. Or another example is the Pittsburgh Steelers. ¨The Steelers have played in eight Super Bowls, winning six of them, including four in six years¨ (Super Bowl History). Although teams have more successful wins, their story and their fans are nothing compared to Cleveland’s. Overall Cleveland, Ohio is the best sports city because of the money the city generates, the love of the fans, and the history of the
Chicago: All That Jazz The stage performance of Chicago offered a spectacle that I expected before attending the show. I knew there was going to be scantly clad girls with dark makeup and saucy attitudes. The performers brought to life all that was raunchy in the entertainment business during the roaring twenties. The lifestyle in Chicago featured jazz, booze, sex and crime. More importantly, Chicago had beautiful, young women with the dream of having their own Vaudeville act. The two main female characters, Velma and Roxy were two such women hoping to capture the public's attention. The composition of the show is a metaphoric integration of Vaudeville type acts amongst the book scenes and diegetic musical numbers.
Unfortunately, I had to find someone else to speak with due to the fact that all my calls were not returned. I spoke with Bradley Roback at the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), City of Chicago. Bradley Roback is an Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Chicago. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Biological Sciences from Illinois State University and obtained his M.S., Master of Sciences, Public Service Management from Depaul University. His concentration is in Metropolitan Planning and Urban Affairs. Prior to his role at the DPD, he was the Director of Transportation Services with the South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, located in East Hazel Crest, IL. Bradley's other interest include, creating
Corporations are taking over the urban landscape. In previous years, many upper and middle class families fled to the suburbs to escape the everyday hustle of city life. However, in recent years, city living has become glamorized and thus the movement back into the city has increased. Once blighted inner-city neighborhoods are being taken over and revitalized by corporate leaders in hopes to redesign and yuppify these areas. As more money is put into the area, the higher the market value goes up and as a result, many local residents can no longer afford to live there. While these residents are pushed out, a more ‘desirable’ group of residents move in and thus, take over. This process, known as gentrification, is occurring in many cities all across the nation. In the past, displaced residents could possibly move to another area that was not undergoing this process. However, as we are seeing in Chicago, it is nearing impossibility to move to an area within the city that will not

Instead, allow me to substitute those generic essay themes with a brief summary. Living in the same town for the Not only for its high-rises, architectural feats, business opportunity, or what have you; but the diversity, as well.
Baseball in Chicago was very big it grew a lot in Chicago back then in the 1800’s.
New York City Every time I hear this song it makes me long to leave all of my responsibilities and head off to the city of dreams. A trip to New York has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I have always wanted to visit the
Chicago just recently celebrated its 178th birthday and a lot has changed over the past 178 years. Chicago is known as the 3rd largest city in the United States, but it hasn’t always been that way. Currently an estimated 2.7 million people live in the Chicagoland area. Back in 1837 when Chicago was established, the number of people who lived in Chicago was estimated to be around 4,170 people.
Above is my timeline that I was a part of with Ashley Bowden and we decided to do the Chicago area. I was able to talk her into doing Chicago for my love of big cities and architecture. Even as a little kid, I had a love of
Can you considered yourself safe even if it the city you were born? Many people are living out in the streets because of violent, outrageous taxes and government corrupt. You’re probably the next one to have that fate. Chicago is your best bet on being the worse city to live.
blinding and mind-altering lights, and sheer musical excitement a part of my everyday life. Commuters livened up Chicago in delightful ways. Several groups of men and women sat together in close, casual delicatessens on the street and conversed about cosmopolitan attitudes and modern ideas in popular culture. In another area of the city, men ate While watching these different characters, I was drawn to the highest floor of the Sears Tower, where lights illuminated the sky and blended artfully into a pattern of lines. When I walked in the street, lights from stores and
As the city 's center becomes older and less desirable, the value goes down. This then attracts people who want to be centrally located, and now in the 21st century people tend to believe that the suburbs have less “character” and that most cities are considered to be “edgy” and “urban”, which is another reason as to why young, wealthy, white workers want to be located in the inner-city. Our pop culture is heavily influenced by black culture, so young people want to live where it’s hip, as well as reasonable.
For Christmas and my sixteenth birthday present my parents planned a trip for me to go to New York City with my dad. Two days after Christmas me and my dad hopped on the plane and headed for New Jersey and New York City. I was very excited because I had been to New Jersey but I never visited New York City before. I also remember being excited because of that fact that I would actually get to see snow in the winter since it rarely ever snowed in Houston during the winter. Then that next year during my junior year in High School, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Los Angeles with my drill team. I was very excited to get to go to both of these huge awesome cities in that two year period. Both of these cities were unique in their own way. So what makes a city similar to another city and what makes a city different to another city? The people, the weather, the vibe, the monuments and popular attractions are all some of the components of what makes a city unlike any other city. My two favorite cities besides Houston are New York and Los Angeles. I have visited both and like them both equally for different reasons. While New York and Los Angeles definitely have their similarities, they also have many differences that set them apart from each other.
My “Perfect” City I. Utilities The city I propose as a perfect city, would be as close to an ecocity as possible, although have some differences. For example, for electrical needs, I would suggest the city have a solar power plant, but on those desperate times, energy would be bought from other electrical plants from nearby towns or states.
