Football The game of football is being attacked. We see it every day in the headlines and on the news. The medical concerns are obvious. The game has taken more than its share of criticism. Even President Barack Obama said that if he had boys he wouldn’t let them play
I will be courteous to all coaches, officials and other parent volunteers who are trying to help me become a better player. I will do my best in all practices and games, have patience with myself and remember that I am playing these games for fun. I will attend every practice and game I can, knowing that my team will depend on me to be there. Finally, I will play hard at every position that my coaches assign to
Diamond in the Rough Have you ever felt like you’re not good enough, not knowing just how much potential you have? One of the most salient experiences of my life was making the Island Coast High School football team, because it taught me that to succeed you must be confident in yourself. The old me would have thought, “ I’m not good enough,” because I never thought that I could compete with kids that already played football. I suppose that I always felt like i couldn’t compete with football players because whenever I would play football in eighth grade, I would not be able to keep up with them. Little did I know, all of that was about to change the day I made my way to the middle of the humid, scorching fied, staring into the eyes of North Ft. Myers Highs’ freshman football team.
My first year of high school, I had experience with injured football players during my physical education class. We had a certified trainer who would come in and check them out. She was excellent and all of the football players and staff loved her. I was so interested in her
To figure out the likelihood of a high school football player’s success in college over 100 high school head football coaches were surveyed about their views on qualities high school football players need to move to the next level. The surveys were mailed, emailed, and followed by several phone calls if no response was received within four to six weeks. All coaches surveyed were members of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and have had high school football players recruited by division one colleges within the last five years. The survey questions sought the following details about the football players: (1) Academic ability; (2) Athletic ability; (3) Self-determination; (4) Character; (5) History of overcoming adversities. Lastly, the end goal after the surveys have been collected and evaluated is to offer high school football players valuable information about what is needed to be considered for a four-year college scholarship.
Some of the skills I would most like to master, are my abilities of playing the position of quarterback and the requirements for that position. I can improve on playing quarterback by playing the position more and asking my teammates who play the position more often, on how I can improve. The quarterback’s main responsibility is to protect the football and the backfield. If I practice ball handling and passing, this should increase my skill level at this position. Being confident in the position and understanding the plays goes a long way with mastering this skill. I want to improve in this skill because it is one of the hardest positions and one of the most important to the team. I will improve with practice, assistance, and confidence building.
In football you can play a wide receiver, quarter back, running back, linebackers, safety, cornerbacks, and line. When you play the main spots you got to work harder. People think football players are a bunch of players. You can get drafted to a professional football in your junior year of college.
There are several keys to learn how to be a great tackler. You need to learn how to do forced fumble, good tackling, and wrapping them up the right way, reading a play. You need to learn to not get flagged and penalized because if you do you will not be able to play as much because you got flagged. You need to learn how to hit the ball just right so you make them fumble the ball. Then you need to get the ball to get the fumble recovery. You need to wrap them up so they do not get lose and score. You need to be able to read a play so that you can make the right play call. If you know this then you will be a great tackler.
Football is a favorite American pastime. Everywhere in America, young men in high school dream about one day playing for a college, or even a professional team. For them, it may have started at a young age, but it is most relevant when playing in high school. This dream is different for each individual, but each team has the same goal at the start of every season. This goal is to make the high school state football championship playoffs. Of all the things that the playoffs bring, the atmosphere of each game is what makes every practice and game worthwhile.
The main focus should be to learn how to play sports, how to listen to a coach and be part of a team." That in fact is very true. Sports are important, but one will not always have them in life. Being a loser isn’t necessarily a bad thing. One tends to learn from losing. In like manner, if you are given a trophy for everything you do, you will not learn how it feels to lose. Losing makes people want to improve on what they aren’t successful in. By the same token, this is a motivator in what they want to be fortunate in, and continue to strive in
First, I had to accept that I didn’t make the football team. Reflecting on the past is not going to help me in the future. It was not easy, but it is the first step in trying to achieve success. Secondly, I had to understand why I failed. I asked the coaches why I didn’t make the team, and they gave me helpful advice on what I needed to work on. Lastly, I had to create a plan to help me achieve my goal because I didn’t want to give up. Plus, I wanted to make the football team in high school. So, I started exercising three times a week, practicing catching the football, even watching football drills. My plan is to continue these drills and exercising until high school football

For as long as I can remember football has been a part of my life in some way, shape, or form. When I was first born my grandfather said that I was solid and built to play football. I used to throw the football with my mother when
During my internship I worked with Franklin High School’s football team, I started on June 25th and worked all the way to August 14th Monday-Friday for 3.5 hours each day. So all together I gotten a total of 122 hours. What I did during the internship was help the coaches in any way I possibly could, such as help setting up equipment for drills, helping the quarterbacks warm up, help run drills , and being the ball boy during their scrimmages. I did anything that the coaches asked me to help with. From this experience, I learned many things that goes into being a coach for a football team. There were some thing that I noticed about the football team that I learned about in my sports in society class. I remember talking about how some athletes think that sports are their only way of being successful, and their only way of getting out were their living right now. Some of the high schoolers saw football as their ticket of getting out of their predicaments. Sometimes they focus so much on football that they let their grades slip and get into trouble with their classes. Though the coaches do a real good job of reminding them that it’s just not their athletic ability that’ll get them into a good college, but they also have to get good grades too. The coaches do a real good job of keeping their athletes on the right track and help them when they need help so that they can play football. Something that I learned in my sponsorship and sales class helped with this situation. We
