1.1 Explain Models of practices that underpin equality, and diversity and inclusions in own area of responsibility.
I find that the concepts of diversity, inclusion and social justice to be important because they build on each other and have the power to change the world. When all of these aspects work together and are acknowledged then we are able to work toward changing social norms and creating aspects in society that are focused on equity, rather than equality. Of course, social justice should be the goal that we as individuals want to achieve in liberating areas of our that have limited and restrained others. I connect diversity and appreciating diversity with being the foundation to this equation of equality because individuals need to understand that there will be differences between people. I enjoy the statement on, “… Who is in the room?” because it starts to explain the variations in personal characteristics within a group of people. This is going to be part of my position as an RA within Resident Life because a floor’s residence are going to have wide range in their own diversities through their age, sexual orientation, journeys to get to college, race and ethnicity, etc. I am proud to have experienced the things I have and lived and go to high school in such a place like Aurora, CO to where I was able to live and embrace a diverse community. I came to define this diversity to be normal, but coming up to CSU and Fort Collins has shown me how much of Colorado does not have the same kind of standards. The next support beam to building this idea that works toward social would be

Having experienced various teaching methods throughout my time in education; and having used them within my previous part time job as a tutor, I have developed an understanding of how psychological theories have influenced teaching and the curriculum. My studies of sociology have also taught me about the changing society in which we live, thus giving me an insight into how human behaviour, education, religion and family impact on society as a whole. From my A level studies I have gained several transferable skills which will aid me with my degree. I have gained time management skills, from balancing a heavy workload; organisational skills from prioritising my academic studies and extracurricular activities; and also motivation by setting achievable goals, considering the overall outcome, and the dedication needed to achieve that goal.

Diversity and inclusion are critical strategies for any organization that wants to be successful in business. Organizations cannot expect for diversity and inclusion to appear and work smoothly within the workplace automatically. Diversity and inclusion is a journey that companies must take to reap the rewards of being a truly global business. There are eight steps that organizations can apply to their workplace that will make diversity and inclusion a smooth and fun journey. Organizations can start the inclusion process by first learning the eight steps to inclusion in the workplace.
In addition, the teacher is responsible for researching the subject area to ensure a wide, current knowledge base that will help when establishing credibility and professionalism, and then to develop a variety of interesting ways to deliver the content whilst ensuring a safe working environment for students. This is a poster used to promote inclusiveness and equality of disabled and able people in businesses. It is designed by the British film institute and disability equality in education collaboration as part of the "What have you got to offer?" campaign. This a campaign to suggest to businesses to make places more accessible to disabled people. The whiteboard to the right of the man says "Braille menus" which are used by blind people so they can read. This shows how the restaurant has become more accessible and therefore more inclusive of disabled customers.
My name is Brenda Johnson, and I am an obese American woman. I usually can guess that when people see me, they are already assuming differences in my life compared to theirs. In some ways they are right, but also in many they are wrong. Today, more than two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese (Ogden at al., 2014). Of those two-third adults, 65.8% of those Americans are Women and from that percentage most of them are African American (NHANES 2011-2012). Researchers have said that the main cause of obesity is from a lack of energy balance. The amount of calories you intake from food and drinks is called “Energy In”, and the energy your body uses when being physical, or digesting, is called “Energy Out” (NIH, 2014). So usually to keep a healthy weight, you should over time try to equal out your energy in and out. But obesity can also be caused by your genes, other health conditions, and even your environment around you. Most of my family has also struggled with obesity, which is probably a reason I also have been dealing with it for almost all of my life. But still day by day, I try to continue to keep pushing through and live life to the fullest I can. Even when dealing with obesity, I am not much different from you. (Question 1)
To become more involve in Diversity: I have chosen the development in the area to become more involved in diversity, am I an African woman and a U.S. citizen. I was born in the Ivory coast and I went to school in France. Diversity defines where people come from, and also their sex, race, and religion. When people involve themselves in diversity, they are able to learn other people’s cultures – food, music, dance, language, etc. The encouragement of diversity will benefit our society.
