A public service is a service that is funded by the government or by donations to help the government deliver its actions as effectively as possible. There are two types of public services they are statutory and non-statutory services. The difference between a statutory and a non-statutory service is that a statutory service is paid by tax payers, funded by the government and is set up by the law. They are usually uniformed and highly professional an example would be the Emergency Services and the Armed Forces. A non-statutory service is a service that doesn’t receive a lot of government funding so they are paid by members or the public as they are registered as charities, they are set up by individuals and not parliament and unlike
Interventions are widely used in all areas of Human Services to assist those in need meet their goals of self sufficiency. Some common interventions include reframing, the process of helping someone see a situation in another perspective, and Task-Centered Approach, the process of breaking down the problem into smaller and more manageable goals, that eventually lead to solving the original problem. Determining which intervention to use widely depends upon multiple variables such as; the problem the client is currently facing, their current emotional status, whether they have a support network or not, and their current use of coping skills. If some of the above variables are missing, it has been common practice to address these issues prior to using interventions to address the problem.
To begin, the Department of Health and Human Services or HSS is a federal agency that is responsible for maintaining the health of Americans and regulating federal programs like Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services). Now, these are some serious people and what they do is very important to the welfare of the citizens of this country. The HSS had six goals they wanted to undertake between 2010 and 2015. Some of those objectives were to strengthen health care, advance scientific knowledge and innovation and lastly to advance the health, safety, and overall well-being of the nation (The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2013).
I believe social services are essential to those who are in need of help. They help people transition out of poverty. Social service programs helped me when I was growing up and to this day I still benefit from the programs that they offer. I went to head start, which helped me prepare for elementary school and through Head Start was where I learned to speak English. In high school I participated in Talent Search and now as a college student I receive help from Trio student support services. I do not know where I would find myself now if I had not received the support and guidance from these programs.

It is a pleasure meeting you and getting to know you as well. I agree with your reply from my above statement with your statement “I have found the principles to be so important, not only to my work life, but also to my daily life.” While working in this field has continued to show me that having principles when working with individuals is important to maintain their wellness and recovery and to ensure that providers in any human services field are helping with daily activities either with family, school,or work to be conveyed in a way that supports an individual’s needs and goals. I am committed to social justice. My life started off rough coming out of an abusive home. I have worked so hard to get myself to a place where I can help kids that were in an abusive home and have trauma like me. I am a Criminal Justice major here at Westfield State University. My end goal is to help kids in bad living situations. I want to help juveniles that haven't taken the straight path like I did. I feel as though I can help them see that your background doesn't matter, but handwork and passion does. I have experience that not many people have. I can touch these kids in a way that others can't. I want to lead them to a path of greatness and use their painful past as fuel to make an amazing future.

The Pendleton Civil Service Act’s purpose is to award federal government jobs to individuals based off merit, rather than cronyism or nepotism. In the context of public administration, this law has established benchmarks for the field of public administration, but it does not go without its disadvantages. This act bred performance management application in the public administration community by establishing tests and performance measurements that certainly outweigh the nature of providing government jobs due to party affiliation The act inherently eliminates a disadvantageous federal job market, and seeks to benefit those who can perform to the standards of the position. The benefits of this system outweigh its detriments, but I seek to examine how this system works today, and if its initial purpose was carried on.
By focusing upon the recent experiences of the citizen is has been clear that Civil service in AJ&K has many strengths and suffers from a large number of weaknesses.
