At this point I am not certain of the specific career path I intend to follow, but I am considering three possible career options. One is to study criminology as an undergraduate, followed by a law degree and then work for the FBI. I have been interested in FBI work since I was 8 or 9 years old. The investigative work, particularly solving crimes or working counterterrorism, is my biggest interest. My second interest is politics. I have always enjoyed learning history, and this year American Government has been one of my favorite class. Through my numerous history classes and American Government class, I believe that in becoming a politician I can help numerous people and hopefully break the often stereotype of politicians, uncompromising and

My career choice is a Forensic Psychologist. Since I first figured what I wanted to be when I grew up, it either involved science, medicine, and law. I went from Surgeon to Scientist then to Lawyer. It always somehow involved the criminal field. So, I did more research on what I could assemble and I came to the conclusion that being a Forensic Psychologist was the best route for me to take. In my paper, I will be telling you more in depth information about my career choice, how my thoughts of my career choice relate to the information of my career, my plan to get to this career, and furthermore my future.
I chose to research a career in Health Psychology, focusing somewhat on clinical work. I chose this career path in particular because of my major and emphasis in Health Psychology; I wanted to know what the opportunities, benefits, and requirements were for pursuing this specific field within psychology. I was made aware of this option as a major emphasis during my first semester at BYU-Idaho, and I knew at that point that I wanted to go on to doctoral studies and possibly medical school, so I switched from a General Psychology emphasis to Health Psychology. I also wanted to know if there were specializations under Health Psychology that would fit with my personal interest in addiction recovery.
Experiences often have a noticeable impact on potential career paths, and I am no exception. I spent a major portion of my recent summer interning at Sanford Health, a local hospital, with Sanford Vascular Innovations, a research group located within the hospital. As part of my internship, I became involved in the patent process for novel medical devices and observed live surgery, both state-of-the-art and timeless, to increase my understanding. Observing the live surgeries provided me with a more knowledgeable position from which to write a background of current medical treatments for the novel medical devices. Even though the specific medical devices were not in the trial phase, just observing the operations afforded me a greater understanding of how the device could be used and where potential complications could occur. Performing the actual surgery would provide even more insight into how medical devices are used and where complication may occur.
The answer I chose was b, rewards. At first, I chose c, alternative partners but for some reason I second guessed myself. I felt that c was too straight forward so I went with an answer that didn’t make too much sense. Overall, there were two reasons why I got this question wrong, I second guessed myself and 11/7/17 I wasn’t feeling 100%. I overall felt that I did not do my best on quiz 10 and have realized that honestly, we all do have bad days.
Overgeneralization was used often. This was the main error with the argument. There were many facts missing and much of the information was oversimplified. This was because many pieces of information were missing for someone to be able to decide upon a career field.
The three careers I have researched are ones that deal in the area of helping others in emotional or physical distress, either through counseling or stress relieving activities. The first is a therapist which is one of my main focuses as a career and the one that interests me the most. Another career I have researched is a recreational therapist, also being a major focus of mine in terms of career paths. Finally the third career I’ve conducted research on is a mental health counselor which is a type of job that I would like to work in if I’m unable to perform well in the first two. These three careers are very fascinating to me and the rewards and skills that these careers offer are very promising. Also the idea of being able to help those who are in need keeps me on track to one day being in this line of work.
The three careers I decided to focus on for my report will be Chemists, Biologists and Biochemical Engineers. These three careers are very similar but different in many ways. They all focus on a study of science from creation.
Currently, I am a senior at the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology studying the field of Graphic Designing. Throughout the entirety of high school, I have tried my hardest to succeed and do the best that I can do. Through my experiences at the Academy of Arts, Careers and Technology, I have learned a lot about the future, our society, and myself; I have decided to not become a Graphic Designer and actually go to towards the direction of the human body, as I have always been curious. I plan on going to the University of Nevada, Reno and graduate with pre-medicine, then to go to graduate school and specify to become a surgeon. Also, throughout high school, I have been able to be an active community member and I have had the opportunity to
My friends have always criticized my altruism, marveling at how I could just spend a Sunday at the hospital volunteering or walk three miles to end hunger. But I've never seen it as a burden because I want to live my life serving others and making a change. But, school has also shown me the wonders of science captivating me with complex molecular structures and processes the brain instantaneously does every second. The intrigue of science and the joy of helping left me at a crossroads when choosing a career path. Yet, I soon realized that the decision was clear: medicine was the perfect combination of what I loved. It was on realizing this, that a new world opened up to me. I noticed how inspiring my own doctors, family members in the medical field, and various other doctors were. Doctors selflessly devote themselves to care for others through science.
It’s hard to say I don’t know what I want to do when I finish college. I’m suppose to have this idea of what I want to do for the rest of my life and be devoted to that career for the rest of my life. “So, what have you decided to study?” is a question I have heard from parents, teachers, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends, co-workers, and just about everyone else that says they know me. I don’t know how I am supposed to just know what I will do for the rest of my life. Choosing ones career should be a decision based over a long period of time, and after being exposed to many different experiences. And in order to acquire the best career for yourself you must make the decision, only you know what is best for you.
As a child of Eritrean immigrant parents, I felt I was forced to choose from the four career choices that most non-American parents want their kids to fulfill; doctor, nurse, lawyer, or international businessman. At the age of five I was playing with stethoscopes and blood pressure cuffs, not dolls and building blocks. When I started the third grade at Campbell Hill Elementary, I fell in love with volunteering in the special needs classes during my recess. Instead of playing with my friends outside, I would run to room 210 and help the teachers prepare games for the kids that would benefit their learning style, or slowly walk hand in hand with Rebecca, back and forth from hall to hall to help her become familiar with the school since she was blind. I chose to do this three times a week until I left for middle school. With the teachers encouraging me to continue with what I was helping them do, the decision was easy for me, I did not want to be a doctor, nurse, lawyer or international businessman, I wanted to be the best pediatric
Have you ever thought about what a little research could do to help explore your approaching career? The things that will be discussed in this paper will give a clear example of what research could help you. The website that my classmates and I used to explain our Career Research papers, was cfnc.org. I hope, that through research, to discover more about a certain career that may suit my interests and things that I am skilled in.
While some people have known exactly the career that they have wanted to go into since childhood, I did not. The only thing that I knew for certain was that I wanted to help people. Whether it was holding lemonade stands to raise money to build schools in Haiti or creating my own not-for-profit business selling baked goods and to buy animals for impoverished communities throughout the world. Over two years, I raised over $5,000. Although I enjoyed this, I still felt that this was not the career for me. The next summer, I spent a month in the Dominican Republic on a service trip. This was a life changing experience as it showed me how to have a global perspective on life as well as instilling in me the importance of serving a good greater than my own. However, knowing that this could not be a career, I kept exploring. Eventually, I took a Principles of Engineering course in school, and from the first day, knew that I had found what I was looking for. I will continue to follow my passion of helping people in engineering by creating new products that increase quality of life in people all over the world. However, I must first educate myself and get experience through internships and co-ops. It is for these reasons that I believe that the best city in world that I can live in to further my goals is Lawrence, KS.
In my Career Explorations and Opportunities (CEO) class, we have just completed a financial unit. Before this unit I didn’t understand many banking terms, I wasn't aware of the difference between savings and chequing and did not know what was available to me through banks being a student. Throughout the unit I was constantly learning new things and realized how important saving is! Savings can really be a great safety net in case of emergency. Throughout this unit I have learned a lot about savings, savings skills, savings mindset, investing, types of investments and my risk appetite. In the following paragraphs I would like to tell you on what I learned throughout this unit.
