I am using Observation #4. Children are interested in pretend playing where they pretend to be a doctor and a nurse. It demonstrates that they seem to be responsible conduct as a group member.

I went home and I asked my children to play one of the games and they liked it. The game had the students engaged because I was engaged when I was playing and so were my kids. The interesting part is that the game is that it could be challenging but that will power of passing to the next level make you keep going. The game is also fun to play and you learn at the same time. Math being a concept that many children hate because of misconception this game can make them change their mind about math concepts. While the children are playing with each other they are working on their cooperation skills, communicate skill, fine motor skills and their gross motor skills all at once. Pretend play gives children a visual perception on things in life. It also teaches children how to face some real life situations they might have to face in life. There are specific materials children will be using in this activity because in pretend play and thing can be used or absolutely nothing has to be used . as the teacher I have to model out some situations so children can feel more comfortable while playing.

Before I explained what was happening are before they had started I asked each child to go get an apron and put it on , then I explained to each group of the five children that they had to do different types of flowers showing small ones and tall ones, I did an example for them by drawing a daffodil I started of by showing them the stem I drew it with the small skinny brush then I used the thicker brush for the petals of the flower, after showing the children an example they caught on to the activity and they enjoyed completing it when their picture was completed I then got them to place it on the drying rack and I called up the next group and completed this whole progress over again until each child had completed their activity.

One of the most difficult obstacles I think I will come across when conducting my initial play therapy session is the ability to redefine the type of role I will play as an adult. Since I have a pre-established relationship with the child with which I will be working, it will be challenging to step out of a role of authority and allow the child to take the lead. I think it will also be difficult for me not to answer her questions with definitive answers, get on the floor and start playing/helping her, or take on a teaching role. I am both nervous and excited about my first session, especially when considering the idea that limits are only set when necessary and I am not used to that with this child, or any other children for that matter. I have always been in a parental or teacher role when working with children and this change will be interesting.

I will turn the dramatic play area into a forest, by adding flashlights, sleeping bags, binoculars, compass, play food. I will allow children to explore the forest using these items and let camp out in the forest. Then, I will add the different large forest animals into the play area. I will observe the children, as they play to determine how to expand on their learning experience, by adding additional props to the center making the classroom look like a forest . I will add books about different animals in the reading center, different pictures of forest animals and item around the classroom.
