I am going to explain ways to reduce bullying in our school systems and communities. Some ways we can reduce bullying is to make sure it never starts up and to make sure that you don’t acknowledge the bully after the treatment that he bestows on you. How you do this is when, for example you are in the hallway or at work so when you walk passed them you should not shrink back or try to make yourself look smaller in his midst. Another way you can do this is to never look or talk to him at school during lunch you could try sitting at the same table that he is sitting at and if he tries to talk to you and if you are in a conversation act as if you do not hear him and keep talking to your friend. When you have talked and if he tries again to make
According to “Stopbullying.gov”, bullying can threaten students physically, emotionally, and can negatively impact their ability to learn. The best way to address bullying is to stop it before it starts.
Are schools doing enough to address bullying? In the text, it states “The National Center for Education Statistics reported in 2013 that one of three students are bullied either in school or through social media. Students in schools imagine suicidal thoughts and the schools or parents are not doing enough to stop those thoughts. Imagine if your child brings suicidal thoughts into their head and ends up killing themselves because of someone who bullies them. Schools are not doing enough to address bullying because most of the schools don’t have clear procedures or policies for investigating bullying and the zero-tolerance policies can motivate teachers or administrators to over-discipline children.
There are many strategies to discourage and prevent bullying. The three suggestions that stuck out to me the most were giving a bullying quiz, mixing up a lunch day, and watching a movie. Mixing up a lunch day refers to the idea of encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones and to sit with new students. This generates a friendly environment which helps stop early clichés from forming. The third idea is watching the movie, “Bullied.” The movie illustrates the perspective of bullying by the person being bullied and the negative effects that bullying causes. The theme of the movie is to end bullying and to encourage students to care for their fellow classmates. Overall, the bullying quiz is a best choice to prevent bullying, because it is a way to focus on a subject matter, and show students the importance of the information. Testing is a great
In my opinion, after reading Schools Where Everyone Belongs and reading numerous articles online the most effective way to stop bullying is to take a proactive approach. Educators have to know their students by building a positive, trusting teacher/student relationship. The bully or could be bully needs encouragement and positive, constructive backing. They want boundaries and expectations. You cannot transform an aggressor by
Instead of asking the child to stop, a hand signal could be taught to the
Bullying has been a major issue/concern for kids not only in America, but worldwide. Approximately 9% of all suicide deaths are committed by children that have been/are being bullied. Unfortunately, 1 out of 7 children in the U.S.A are bullies or are being bullied. The whole world needs to take a stand, and stop bullying. Everyone can do at least something to stop bullying. And what are some methods?
Although schools, agencies and pediatricians can do much at the community level to mitigate bullying and its effects, the problem is clearly societal in scope. Bullying cannot be stopped with a single intervention or by a single social agency. The use of violence to solve problems is repeatedly illustrated through television and other visual media. Many parents of bullies believe that it is appropriate for their children to learn how to compete in the schoolyard and do not see bullying as an issue (Feldman Hertz, Donato, & Wright, 2013). Too many children in our society are exposed to domestic violence directed towards parents and themselves. Too many children are born into adverse family situations, including low maternal age at the birth
It is pretty obvious as to why the bullying should be addressed. Simply because no one deserves to deal with such humiliation, and undergo any type of depression. School bullying is definitely a major issue that should be addressed and dealt with by school officials, teachers, etc. All schools should increase security measures, promote better anti-bullying programs, and possibly find more reasonable punishments
Experience of being a victim of bullying can finally damage the mental health of students and motivate them to commit school violence. "According to statistics in two-thirds of cases of the recent school shootings, the attackers had previously been bullied" (Sampson, 2009, p.1). For most children learning process itself may already be a daily struggle and being a target for bullying at the same time can become "the straw that broke the camel's back", after which they consider suicide as the only possible solution. "A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying" (Detlor, 2010). So, due to the fact that problem of bullying negatively affects students' learning ability, their health and the entire school climate society should take definite and urgent measures to solve it.
and it’s time to stop! On page 730 in the ELA textbook, it says, “There is no excuse for bullying. Almost 30 percent of U.S. youth (more than 5.7 million students) are involved as a bully, a target of bullying, or both. Bullying has a negative effect on all involved, and more steps must be taken to prevent it.” The evidence I found from the ELA textbook means that bullying can be stopped by standing up for yourself and telling an adult. You need to have power over the bully. No matter what, stay kind and courteous and don’t let that bully defeat
won’t stop, unless it’s enforced. Ways to stop bullying can be to speak up for others, and to

Why and how does children get bullies in school? Is it necessary to have bullies in school? According to the article “Bullying and Peer Victimization”, Faris discusses the cause of bullies and how it affects their mental health. One cause of bullying is the diversity, which makes a consequence of mental problems. The mental health problems that shows are depression, anger, anxiety, low self-esteem, or low empathy. It is proven that “researchers have found that bullies have significantly lower self-esteem than bystanders (O’Moore & Kirkham, 2001), are more depressed (Roland, 2002), and have lower global self-worth, scholastic competence, social acceptance, and greater behavioral conduct problems (Austin & Joseph, 1996)” (Faris, 2009).
A common occurrence for many attending schools for what has been a considerably long amount of time is bullying, a venomous word associated with anguish and misery. It is quite unnerving when considering the vast amount of negatively that occurs in our network of school systems. For the most part, many people, both students and teachers, try their best to put an end to this problem, but it always has the ability to stick around and haunt yet more and more students. There are many preventative measures to end this plague, and there are fortunately many ways to initiate these methods to get rid of bullies.
Where do they get these people to control children at school? To behave like a bully as an adult can land you in jail with a lot of consequences. When you act like this as a child in school, some pathetic adult is going to ask you to "shake hands," " Hug each other" or something worse. Its so many situations where the administrators make the victim feel responsible for the bullying. They would punish the hurting person before the bu, hows that fair or fixing any problems? A bully should be removed and sent to a strict military-style academy (of course depending on the condition of the offender's mental state, etc.). America needs to wake up and realize that this politically correct system of raising children is like letting children raise themselves under ineffective supervision. These helpless children are typically caught between ignorant parents and milquetoast school staff who don't understand, don't pay attention, and don't make proper efforts to improve these situations. It's primal like some wildernesses were only the privileged pretty ones and the strong survive. These victimized children are becoming mentally damaged, and this takes exceptional treatment and understanding to correct. These kids need to feel human again, encouraged, included and loved. All they get is a limp pep talk, administrators peddling sorry answers. And a daily dose of tragic abuse. Does no one nurture these poor kids? They
