I do not think that all men and women should be required to join the military if they are physically able to, because physical ability is not the only requirement. In order to be able to live a military life, men and women should be mentally prepared for the challenges they are going to face on a daily basis. If the military personnel is not mentally strong, these challenges can create difficulties that will keep them from performing their tasks. When you are in military, no matter what is your task, it is crucial to pay attention to every single detail, because even the smallest mistake can lead to vital results and cost lives. Considering this, it is necessary to be fit both mentally and physically.
There are a lot of graduates fresh out of high schools that make the decision to use the military. There are some people that join the military because that is a fast and easy choice for them. The military gives everyone a wide variety of options. College for instance, the military allows you to serve your country and still have time to attend college and get a degree if you choose to do that. People that choose to join the military get the option to go to college anytime they feel during their military career. The military pays for part or all the tuition. The military has four different branches, Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marines. Each branch offers different trades. Air Force for example, teaches people to fly, have mechanical skills,
Let us face the facts, it is this the 21st century, women should be required to sign up for the draft. Women are aloud to enlist in the military, and into any branch, so women should also have the civic duty to enlist. In the later generations of the world, women have never been thought of as equal citizens, but in the 21st century that has changed. The world should accommodate to the change also. To match up to how the country has transformed the government should also look into rewording the constitution, but for now a change in the draft would do. The extensive worry is who will raise our next generation, and will there even be a next generation if all the youngest our out fighting? Back to my first argument, draftees would be given a choice, and I think if women joined the military draft, we would have several other opportunities arise in the future
Throughout human history, war has permeated the lives of billions of people. From early conflicts such as conquests to control vast swaths of land by Alexander the Great and Cyrus the Great to modern, global wars such as the World Wars, the concept of war has been at the forefront of humanity’s mind for centuries. However, in recent years, opposition to war and lack of participation in the military has become a common theme in many countries, including the United States. To help alleviate the troubles caused by lack of participation, the United States instituted a law allowing for the conscription of its citizens. Conscription, which can also be referred to as a draft, is defined as the compulsory drafting of citizens into military service (What). The Draft has been utilized throughout US History in a couple of prominent wars; however, opposition has manifested against the Vietnam War and the draft, rightfully stemming from ethical opposition to the war and hatred for what the war and the draft stood for.
A lot of people think that women should not get drafted in the military. I personally do not think that women should get drafted because who is going to stay home and watch the kids, clean the house, and make dinner. Yes there are a lot of women that are going to disagree with me just because they think that they should have equal rights to men which they do they just do not understand that. Some reasons for women to no be drafted is because they cannot pick a 180 pound man if they are 100 pounds, they cannot neccsraily do everything men can do and they need to stay at home and take care of the children.
Less than one percent of all Americans are enlisted in the military. An even smaller percentage of high school students are enlisted. Students are thought to be incompetent, and not mature enough to decide on enlisting in the military. However, students should be allowed to join the military. The military offers many benefits students can use to help their future. The protection of our country is not overlooked for recruits; they are awarded many personal benefits as well. Tuition assistance, job training, and many benefits that help prepare recruits for occupations while enlisted. Not only are students getting great benefits, but they are also in a small group of professional workers.
Some people have a death wish. Do you have a death wish? In some countries, people have been forced to join the military for two years. Joining the military service for some people means death, would you like to die? People should not be forced to join the military service because it could lead them to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, their loved ones could suffer if something happened to them. And finally, while some think they are serving for their country, they are only doing it for corporate profits.
Americans, especially baby boomers, should be ashamed of themselves. How can the world's richest population let its military go begging for recruits?
Previously, in the army there had less of women work in but now it is not that, not less women had been joined in the army because at this time men and women are treated equally to apply jobs in the army. Although the leader position of army aren’t open up to women but There are many position which women are able to apply .
Most people have, at one point or another, considered what they were going to do with their lives. Whether a person would like to become an activist, an artisan or a business professional, the military has something for everyone. Finding a path in life is often filled with uncertainty and procrastination. The United States military is a path in itself, should one wish to retire from it; however, should a person wish to make their own path, there are benefits for that as well that can remove all doubt and curb procrastination. Due to these many benefits, I believe that it should be mandatory for all adults to enlist for a minimum of twenty-four months.
As many other countries mandate young adults partaking in the military for two years, the United States should follow suit. Many beneficial consequences would be rendered as a result of the increase in service. This would also be a great commencement into the real world for any young adult. These statements can be explored by discussing the benefits of free college tuition, disciplined young adults who are ready to follow orders, and the sheer power of numbers.
Should every young person, including women, serve at least two years at a minimum in our military? Other countries draft their young individuals, why not us? If America were to draft anyone into the military service we would have many unqualified military personnel. Some people are just not fit enough to do some things. Drafting every young person into the military would cause the U.S. to have a higher death rate and the population would take years to see major increase. Due to the drafting, many young people would not be able to see life past 30. It is shown in research that more than half of veterans have an illness, such as PTSD or TBI, or abuse drugs and alcohol.
"We owe soldiers the opportunity to serve successfully in any position where they are qualified and capable, and we continue to look for ways to select, train, and retain the best soldiers to meet our nation's needs," Army Secretary John McHugh stated. He didn’t say that we owe men the opportunity, he said soldiers. Many don’t believe that women have a rightful place on the battlefield, especially not in an elite unit because they aren’t strong enough or skilled enough. The Navy SEALs are leading by example and are allowing women to join if they can pass the necessary tests. Women should be given the chance to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, just as they can in the Navy SEALs. Data isn’t enough to prevent women from joining these units. There
Should a government have the power to compel its citizens into military service? Support your view.
The year is 2016, and yet many individuals think 50% of the population should not be allowed to defend their country due to what sex they were born. On December 3, 2015, the Department of Defense announced starting the beginning of January 2016, women will be able to serve along men in combat. These changes will still take several years to go into the full effect. Many jobs will now be available to people with the right credentials and skills, rather than the right body parts. President Obama released a statement about the transition saying, “As Commander in Chief, I know that this change, like others before it, will again make our military even stronger.” (Chappell). On the other hand, not everyone agrees with the step towards
I am in favor of equality for women, just not when it comes to women in combat. There have been women in society doing heroic things since the Revolutionary war. There have been brave women in war posing as men so they could fight. There are a select few women who could handle war and combat. The negative aspects of women in combat outweigh the positive. Women should not participate in military combat. However they may join the military and served in traditional roles such as nurses and office staff. The difference between men and women is women are physically weaker, they have vital personal needs, and they attract male troops.
