Explain Why I Deserve A Scholarship

I believe that I should be awarded this scholarship because I come from a background in which my parents did not go far with education. This has made life hard for my family and myself. My mother is unable to work because she is dealing with multiple sicknesses and my father, who was our main source of income, passed away. My parent both put a lot of pressure on me to get a good education, but we lack the funds to make my dreams of becoming a doctor a reality. If I am awarded this scholarship, I would be so grateful and it would not go to waste.

I would like to be considered for an additional scholarship due to not only financial reasons but because I believe I can become a model Honors College student. I'm actively involved in multiple organizations on campus, I work part-time as a student assistant with the Honors College along with making sure I get good grades.

I would use this scholarship to further my education and dream of becoming a surgeon. I have volunteered at St. Anthony Hospital since October 2016 in the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and the OR (Operating Room). I have over 500+ hours volunteering and in conjunction with that I have done a 100-hour internship over the summer. In the PACU, I work with nurses and I get to observe patients waking up from surgery. I help the nurses with anything they need like monitoring a patient, getting family members, cleaning bays, and answering phones. I help out in the OR by cleaning and stocking. It is fulfilling not only because I help the nurses out a lot, but also because I have a passion for the medical field. I started volunteering because of my interest in the medical field

Uneducated, Ignorant, and a house keeper was all I was set to be living in a small predominantly white town in Florida. I knew racism existed, but was too young to comprehend it. As I sat in class to better myself, and ensure that I learned the native tongue of those around me I found myself becoming blended. I am a Puerto Rican/Dominican American and the second generation of being a natural born citizen. I am, however, the first generation to apply to college. I feel I deserve this scholarship because I have come a long way from racism and overall expectations.

I should be awarded this scholarship because I passionately believe that learning and personal development are crucially important. When I was 12 years old, I began to teach myself to use programming languages and software frameworks to create applications and build websites as a hobby. As a visual and tactile learner, most of my acquired knowledge at that time had come from online videos, forums, and blogs. Throughout high school, I excelled as a student adviser for my programming classes and became the team captain of my high school’s competitive robotics team. During my senior year, I orchestrated and lead a small group of students to rebuild our hometown’s public website as a community project. Now I am a full-time student at the University

I plan to attend the Kansas State University in Italy Faculty led program so I can gain more knowledge and creativity as I continue working towards my degree in graphic design. I have always wanted to visit Italy as well. I think this would be the perfect experience for me since it is held through the Art department and led by my very own professors, who I will continue to work with after traveling abroad. Personally, I have always loved the idea of traveling to other countries to be able to learn and appreciate their cultures first hand. I believe the breathtaking architecture and landscape in Italy will greatly inspire and impact my graphic design and photography abilities the most. This experience will truly help me to grow as an artist. Therefore, I know when I come back for the fall semester that I will be bursting with ideas and inspiration for my art projects. In my future professional career, I would love to be able to work internationally with foreign companies. This program will greatly improve my chances of having that opportunity and give me the skills and knowledge I would need to succeed in doing so.

I believe I should be considered for these scholarships as I’m hardworking, passionate, and altruistic. These scholarships will help in my endeavours of attending college debt-free, while learning skills to assist me afterwards.

I wish to be considered for the scholarship as an undergraduate student in Cameron University, majoring in English Language.

Please tell me I can’t do something because I'll try even harder to prove you wrong! I been through so many obstacles but was able to overcome them with God. If I can chose one word to describe why I deserve this scholarship it will be hard working. I feel everyone should get it in their own way. This is why I feel I deserve to be granted the right of education through scholarships and the help and care of the people who care about my journey for a better and higher education. I feel I deserve the scholarship in that i will use the scholarship to further my education and in doing so I will pursue a better future financially and intellectually. In my life I have two preeminent goals. The first goal is to be the best person I can become in any way that I can. The second is to help those who have helped me, and those who have helped them, and anyone who needs to be assisted.

When thinking about why I would love to become a member of the Presidential Honors Scholars Program, the fact that I was even nominated and eligible to apply for the program is humbling in itself. I worked my tail off this past year while actively being involved in the NYU community, and while I was massively disappointed that I missed out on being on the Dean’s List by .04 points and thus thought that I would not be eligible for the Honors Program, I was ecstatic when I received the email inviting me to apply. Therefore, I cannot pass this chance up to receive extra opportunities reserved for the best of the best at NYU, and I have a substantial amount of confidence in myself that I will be able to take advantage and thrive in an atmosphere

I deserve this scholarship because disregarding the seventeen ACT score I have or the 3.24 GPA I have, I have worked very hard to get to where I am now being my last year which is senior year. Around two years ago, I wasn’t who I am now. Freshman and sophomore year of High School all you saw was a girl who just let days passed by. I didn’t pay attention to my grades, or pay attention about college or anything. If I had a 70 in one of my classes I saw it as a pretty moderate grade, as long as I was passing my classes. However, little did I realize that the poor choices that I made would affect my last two years of High School.

I believe I should be awarded one of your scholarships because I believe in taking advantage of every opportunity that the scholarship will bestow upon me. I am a student that believes in working hard, being a positive influence, and giving back to the community. Your organization and I share these core values and I would like to take our vision further by using this scholarship to advance my education as well as an opportunity to improve the lives of those around me. As an immigrant from Nepal, I have had to work hard my whole life just to survive in America. Working multiple jobs while attending school is a tough challenge that I face but I believe that if one works hard their dreams can come true. Many people from my community give up

I believe I deserve this scholarship for numerous reasons. I am a hard working person, who always strives to do my best, and tackles any challenge posed with the ambition. My greatest desire is to become a successful engineer, however the financial burden that college bares is too great an obstacle to conquer on my own. I believe I deserve this scholarship, because investing in mem would be investing in the future.
